This is standard Russian Army doctrine. Send in conscripts and second line equipment first to soften up the resistance, then you commit your frontline troops and equipment.

So naturally these conscripts are going to be scared, confused, and reluctant to fight. But their purpose is to be cannon fodder (and they know it.)

USA's woke military should be so lucky as to still have troops with a morale level capable of deteriorating.

I think it is only a very small percentage of Americans that are siding with Russia in this, and there’s always going to be at least some people who get things like this wrong.

And it’s not as if the US has invaded a neighboring country in, say, last 60 years. Non of the countries we’ve invaded were on our border, so no hypocrisy there.

Russians only believe in ethnic self-determination when they’re talking about ethnic Russians. They have absolutely no problem grinding other ethnicities under their boot in the name of nationalism.

Ukraine should follow the Geneva Conventions. There are supposed to be the good guys. Why are they parading POWs and releasing embarrassing videos?

Yeah, it’s mostly Liberaltarians, who are much weaker than Joe Biden.

They represent about 3% of America. Their opinions are not respected and they are irrelevant. But, they are very loud on FR, lol.

Very well said. I would add to this elected officials and those in charge of the machine. Now they are telling the truth? No.

We are haring about low morale and battles going bad for Russia. Ok perhaps. But we are also seeing Ukraine arming untrained citizens and begging for outside intervention.

But to the arming of untrained citizens. Makes for feel good reading but is in my opinion immoral as these people will pay a huge price.

Personally I expect to hear the war is going poorly for Russia right up to the minute an agreement between Ukraine and Russia is made. This agreement will give Russia most, not all but most of what it wants and restore relations between the nations. There is no way the west will continue the economic devastation this conflict is imposing.

I probably have some of the details wrong but I think I have the overall picture correct.

Putin will still win but it will be a hollow victory. China should also be concerned; there are reports of Chinese soldiers in tears before their recent skirmish with India’s army. We should be concerned too. Our military isn’t turning boys into men anymore.

The Germans expected a Soviet collapse, but not in a week. The surprise was that the Soviets held on past September, after most of their armies in the border areas had been destroyed.
