I brought this up on these threads back when the same nonsense was being discussed in South Dakota. I made the point back then that instead of calling on a state government to prohibit men from competing in women's sports -- at a time when there wasn't a single case of such a thing in South Dakota -- these parents would be better served by dealing with the matter through means that were completely within their control. Even in a radical leftist dump like San Francisco the parents have started recalling school board members who put politics over the well-being of their kids.
These “silly” problems as you call them have infected and rotted our military, entertainment industries, medical professions, corporate board rooms, churches, academia, news rooms, and, yes, elementary schools. The destructive policies are being mandated by the deep state; and the deep state has no hesitation to go after any mother that speaks the truth at a school board meeting.

If anything, I'd make the case that the real push in these schools should be to eliminate the sports teams entirely ... which is what I have predicted is going to happen anyway once the trannies dominate women's sports.

I have wonder if vetoes of such laws are more about how the proposed legislation is written and whether such would stand up to legal challenge. It is probable that some are seen as too broad if college level athletics are included.
The legislation should be narrowed and be written very clearly to show the intent is to protect female athletes.
It is apparent to all who would use simple reason that “trans” athletes like Lia Thompson are a farce. “Lia” is a biological male and competed as a biological male in collegiate swimming. “ Lia” despite some hormone blocking drugs has the body of a male including male genitalia. “She” is now breaking female swimming records besting biological females who are at the top of their form competing as females their entire lives. This is not only unfair but idiotic. “Lia” is not a female, never was and never biologically will be. This legislation should be unnecessary, but because this trans idiocy has become so pervasive and is destroying female athletic programs state legislatures are compelled to act.
yes I realize Noem had an early misstep on this but I believe she has seen the error of her ways and SD has now rules in place. You gotta give her credit for changing her mind.
