I would say Putin’s war effort might benefit from some turnover given the current performance. But reports suggest his depth chart is weak.
American one star (07) = Russian Major General (shortened from their old Sergeant Major General)
American two star = Russian Lieutenant General
American three star = Russian Colonel General
A four star is just called General, in both Countries.
Since almost no Russian soldiers really want to die for Putin’s meglomaniac stunt, I wonder how many of these deaths were fraggings.
He’s a 3 star general, a Lieutenant General, not a General (4 stars) as the appellation Ret. Gen. Mark Hertling would imply.
Only Fox/Fox Business has a (4 Star) General Jack Keane commenting, as far as I know.

True. In practice they have the same rank equivalent (Colonel), but the break in counting really occurs at the beginning - First and Second Lieutenants are both counted as O-1’s in Russia.

Some analysts are predicting a culminating point for the Russians in about 10-14 days. It seems to be the new consensus.
Russian logistics may be running dry, while the West is ramping up. It is inherently easier to provide one Javelin, than to provide the truckloads of fuel, food and ammo to keep a tank operating.
