Inspire of what is being said they are obviously holding back not wanting, at lwast now to lay waste to cities. It’s not about capability but will. They are putting a lot of effort to send convoys of food. I understand why they would say it’s not a war. It’s very targeted in scope. Not sure why anyone wants the weat to join into this mess. It could definitely be much worst

The Russian congress, the Russian Federation voted in favor of this military operation. Because the west tries to blame this soley on Putin, it misses the gravity of the situation.

Biden, Blinken and Zalensky signed an agreement in November that literally triggered this misadventure. Putin simply responded.

Russia’s problems are of it’s own making.

They’re not the fault of Ukraine.

Pooty’s Puffers told us how he was winning, the US and West were getting the worst of everything, yada, yada, yada.

He sounded like that swollen head of his and his nuts were in vices and getting squeezed.

Or, if Russia can invade Ukraine, why can’t the US invade Cuba?

“Putin is in it for Putin. However, he is not part of the one-world government crowd.”

The original post said nothing about a “one-world government crowd.” It addressed oligarchs. And Putin is certainly that. In fact, the term “oligarch” is commonly referred — specifically — to Russians.

To: technically right

Putin had us fooled in thinking that he had modernized his military the past twenty years after pulling off successes in Georgia, Crimea and Syria.

Maybe after all Putin’s role is to play “The Washington Generals” for the Deep State.

Sounds like he’s wanting to protect his country from the cultural/political rot of the West, creeping in from Ukraine.

Some truth to that, but then Putin over the years has totally destroyed any veneer of moral authority he might claim to have, by repeatedly acting in murderous and savage fashion. And now he's really put an exclamation mark on it. He's really no different than a "follow my faith or die" radical Muslim.

And... the truth is, what Putin fears the most is one of the scattered redeeming features of the EU: It's regs do tend to tamp down the worst of the old school Russki style corruption and oligarchys, resulting in real economic progress for most citizens in places like Poland. Most Ukrainians, esp. those under 40, have figured out that joining the EU is an imperfect but better course than forever being subject to Russian domination. BUT, Ukraine and Russia have been so intertwined that with Ukraine in the EU, eventually Russians will demand an end to the old school too, and that will result in another great workers' revolt.

Come to think of it, maybe Putin believes losing (or at least not dominating all of Ukraine) is plan B. He may figure the Euros' anger will subside, they can't really end their dependency on Russian energy, and this war will otherwise isolate most of Ukraine and the West from Russia for decades.

Oh, the Russkis have some very impressive modern weapons, but, they have not managed to produce them in great quantity. Sort of like the F-22 and F-35, but much more drastically.

That said, I note we (US) are cutting back on F-35 procurement. Maybe the thinking is NATO countries will take up the slack, resulting in a NATO with about the same number of F-35’s as originally planned.

Unfortunately, that is a dumb plan. We still have the Chinese to contend with, AND, we need to “Reagan” Russia again.

Oh, man, that needs to go viral.

I’m surprised the news crew was not taken away too, but, maybe the police just figured intimidation of the populace was desirable.

Your #19, pretty good, pretty good.

The thing is, an average Ukrainian has a very limited understanding of whether or not she is being led by the nose through a color revolution or fledgling democracy when she voted in 2010, 2014, and 2019; or when she was voting in Rada parliamentary elections in 2012, 2014, and 2019; but she damn sure has a thorough understanding of a TOS-1A firing a thermobaric weapon into her apartment block so she can eat borscht, drink bad vodka, and receive a ballot with exactly one name on it in 2024: Putin.

We had a color revolution here in 2008 and then a putsch in 2020, but do I want a megalomaniac invading a blue state and dropping thermobarics on the people who voted blue? No. Just because people are moronic pawns means they should become cannon fodder.

Rave on Pooty, you useless sack of shyte. He is the only man in Russia who thought invading Ukraine was a boffo idea. When Russia gets to sell oil and gas to China, India etc. Pooty Poot will find out that they will not pay the full price that Germany and Europeans did. And are still doing. Germany is still getting Russian natural gas, as far I know.

As of now the Russ-China gas pipeline is small and pathetic. China’s internal gas distribution systems must be minimal. So oil China up! Coal too I think.
