I dunno, I'm kinda in the middle.

I still dress like I did when I was 18, but that was in the preppie era. I work in manufacturing, so 90% of my life awake I wear Carhartt and Dickies work clothes.

There is no real venue anymore for wearing suits; the only people I see wearing suits are lawyers and politicans. Though, I'm now at the age when friend's parents have started dying, so I do need a suit for that, and, of course, when I die.

But yeah, I look at young people's fashions now, and just shake my head.

And not just "young" people, but 40 year-olds. I'm embarrassed for them.

There is no real venue anymore for wearing suits; the only people I see wearing suits are lawyers and politicans. Though, I'm now at the age when friend's parents have started dying, so I do need a suit for that, and, of course, when I die.

Even in New York City, the business suit as we knew it is dead. Two years of "remote working" effectively killed it off. Even CEOs will typically wear an open collar dress shirt (no tie) and a sports jacket with jeans and loafers. As they do mostly ZOOM meetings, they only have to look professional from the waist up.
