If Mr.Trump was still at the helm, it would be much less likely that there would have been a war. Mr. Putin would not have been as sure of our response and that would have played into his decision.
With Mr. Biden in office, Mr.Putin could attack knowing that the U.S. administration would dither. Mr. Biden’s weakness in Afghanistan created the opportunity that Mr. Putin could leverage.
Thankfully Reagan didn’t agree with that when it came to containing Russian aggression or else we’d still be in the cold war.
