I would take the drug king pins. Most of the time if you leave them alone, they will leave you alone.
“...but the pandemic and an expensive housing market have pushed many residents to move—like, all the way to Mexico...”
Just going back home.
I believe the restriction is for land within 100 miles of the ocean coast.
Who’s buying all those million dollar homes? Foreigners? Chinese?
Our elected representatives could care less about any of us and all they do is get re-elected.
IOW, just like the place they left, only cheaper.
............ Nothing to worry about Folks .... These are all of the Mandated so called “Pilot” Programs being instituted by the wonderful and Global Utopian “Great Reset” movement ..... Good to get acquainted with what’s going on in states like Kalifornia ..... The movement is going to attempt to force the instituttion of these mandates around the nation over the next few months and years. Best to stop it before it happens while we still have the remnants of a Constitution .... Which of course is incompatible with these Great Reset Mandates .... So that pesky thing will also have to go.
I knew someone who bought a second home in Mexico.
They thought they had a good lawyer and had solid title, but one day they received a letter from the local authorities telling them their home had been confiscated.
Some lessons are best learned the hard way.
Better having them go to Mexico instead of Wyoming and ruining Wyoming

Well, at least until you and yours get caught in the crossfire/hit while taking in the sun on the beach! (Or look like a good kidnapping target).
So, pretty much like California. And they don't have Mexican food down there. They just call it food.
No. Mexico is perfect for kalifornians. Those pigs have already done enough harm to America.
Has that changed?
Exactly. And the food is better.
“Doesn’t Mexico’s Constitution forbids foreigners from owning land or homes?”

Outright ownership, yes. You can still “buy” under long term lease of the land. But of course when the lease period ends the land “reverts”.
Tijuana tea. Cbd oil. Cement ponds.
Californians will be impersonating illegals hoping to get deported.
I have to wonder at how they will react to all of the hoops they have to jump through to legally live in Mexico. Mexico actually has pretty strict immigration laws and they tend to enforce them, especially when it comes to gringos.
On a visitor’s visa you have to go back to the U.S. every 180 days. To live there permanently you have to prove that you have the means to support yourself and fulfill other obligations. You have to register with the local police. Forget about working there and don’t even think about doing anything political. You’ll be deported at best or jailed.
Want to become a citizen? Takes an act of the Mexican Congress.
The commute between T.J. and San Diego will be fun. An hour at least to cross into the U.S.
