It can still be fun if the cars are ever mandated to be fully electric- changing batteries is gonna be a lot longer than gassing up and tire changes!
They’ll just have to race by foot...Bare feet of course...Can’t have any leather shoes because of PETA...
Hell, let’s just all go back to live in caves or hollow trees...Eat whatever you can pick up off the ground or from bushes...Wear no clothes, have no fuel fires...

A side note about CO2 and the Amazon forest. That forest does give a lot of oxygen to the earth via photosynthesis. It does not remove CO2 from the atmosphere with the exception of the organics that flow down the amazon river and are buried in the sea. All of those trees eventually die. They are eaten by termites which emit great amounts of Methane into the atmosphere and CO2 while they live and when their dead bodies decompose. The methane eventully degrades into CO2 and H20. In effect the Amazon forest is not a remover of C02 from the atmosphere and a minor contributor to O2 in the atmosphere.
The big one is algae in the ocean. They are the main contributor of 02 to the atmosphere. When these single cell organisms die their calcareous shells fall to the bottom of the ocean and eventually become limestone. They are the major factor in removing CO2 from the atmosphere
If they truly wanted to go green, they would remove the engines from the cars and have the drivers push them around the track.
