Trump did accept & cash the large checks, but donated 100% to gov’t-related causes (ex.: veterans hospital). He took the pay, but gave it to charity.
Contrast, say, Elon Musk who arranged for minimum legal wage (CA law), and then simply refused to accept/cash those checks. He took no pay at all.
Just being pedantic.
