Let's just be honest. A very significant number of people in public office are white collar criminals. Their priority is to stay in office and keep the gravy train going for themselves. Absolutely. And if they were actually naive enough to think they could withstand the onslaught of corruption, coercion, and easy money then they are either swayed by it all or blackmailed into complying with the system....or they find themselves deprived of campaign money and end up unelected in the next go round.

He’s an idiot. It would take no longer than two days. The Cabinet sends the letter, and he is removed. The president sends a letter to Congress saying he is not disabled.
If BOTH houses of Congress vote 2/3 they override the president’s letter and he is removed.
Simple, fast, and a little harder than Impeachment because you need BOTH houses instead of simple majority in the House and 2/3 in the Senate.
When someone pushes for 25th in lieu of impeachment, you may know you are dealing with a dim bulb.
