His job was obviously working for the RATs to get McCain as candidate and make sure he lost. A pretty easy task based on the fact it was McCain.

I think they figured Palin was an airhead and green around the gills. They were most shocked when she almost pulled that old goat across the finish line.

Then he always could have written in McCain at the top and whomever he wanted at the bottom, provided that they were not from Arizona (no point spoiling your ballot by voting 4AuH20, who I would have written in at the top were I voting in Arizona).

I wonder if he hated the thought of voting for Palin more than I hated the thought of voting for McCain.

I have never had any regrets for my vote in 2008, and this simply confirms this.

I wonder if McCain bothered to vote for both himself and Palin?

"He didn’t want to be known as the old white guy who prevented the young black guy from being president."

Bingo ! Factor #1 in this defeat.

Why is Schmidt mentioning all this now? Who’s he trying to impress or apologize to?

"Next …people will tell me that the Washington Generals coach is really a fan of the Globetrotters."

Not so far-fetched since Chicago-born and raised Hillary, when she was running for New York Senator, claimed she's always been a Yankees fan.

And that is why John McCain will go down in history as one of the worst GOP nominees..look at the garbage the schmuck picked to help him “win” Schmidt and Wallace, two douche bags..McCain never wanted to win..and he picked Palin because he wanted someone to blame after wards for losing..McCain is a prick always has been

Exactly. I remember Rush saying that we had to drag “McCain” over the finishing line. I think the old bugger was also jealous of Palin’s popularity too. In any case, it showed how bad the republicans are and how in bed with the dems they are. Romney was their guy four years later. Thank God for Trump! The man has faults but he’s a million times better that what the republicans have to offer.

The GOP, the party where the slimiest RINO isn't slimy enough or RINO enough to win the hearts of the insiders.

But they do tell us that we're supposed to vote for them because conservatives can't win. Almost as if the real objective is to stop conservatives ...

“As terrible as the John McCain 2008 presidential campaign was, it’s not surprising its own campaign manager didn’t really support it.”

In that position it would seem that this POS actually tanked that campaign.

That year, I figured that if I was supposed to vote for a Repbulican from Mass I’d go with my top choice and vote for Coolidge, who deserved another term. The 22nd amendment doesn’t apply to Truman or anyone elected before Truman. No point in writing in Reagan, who would have been my preference, or Ike or Nixon, who I’d also vote for over Mitt (Nixon might actually be eligible if one reads through the fine print of the 22nd, but I’d still go with Coolidge). And voting for W once was plenty, so far as I’m concerned. I would vote for Nixon over him.

Everything about that campaign was lack-luster. Palin was the only person with any passion to win it and they did everything in their power to undermine her. He even “soothed” voter fears of Obama by insisting he was “a good man.” Runnng back to DC to vote “yes” on a huge bailout that was going to pass without him was the slop on the manure pile. McCain reeked of “desgnated loser.”

...But I held my nose! And Obama to this day is still paying dividends to the radical left!

It was the year of mutually assured destruction (MAD).

Panama John McCain was the pubbies’ designated loser that year.

Both major parties put forward respective candidates who were not constitutionally-valid natural born citizens.

Schmidt is widely blamed for undermining Palin in the closing days of the campaign, when she stumbled in contentious interviews with establishment media outlets, though she drew large rally crowds and performed well against then-Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) in the vice presidential debate.

His comments to Politico came after a week of extensive tweets and comments, including the admission that he lied about McCain’s alleged affair with a lobbyist during the 2008 primary. …
Exactly right.
