You are correct though, their are many politicians on both sides of the aisle that care only about their retention of positions of power, insider information that gives them access to increase their wealth. They indeed do not care about, "We The People".

If by “national security concern” he means disrupting the Beltway money laundering and pay to play influence peddling while they systematically destroy our country, then yes I would say they should have concerns.

Who’s national security are the worried about all of a sudden.
This is just political slander masquerading as information. Gates never says what about Trump represents a “national security concern” because he can’t. He just hopes to put enough fear in people’s weak minds to maintain the deep state’s control of the levers of power.
The biggest threat to our national security is the incompetent and “elite captured” President* Biden. If all legitimate power emanates from the consent of the governed, I think we have a big problem.
That this guy was hired by bush and stayed through obama makes a powerful and negative statement about all three!
