We’ve had 4 or 5 cold Springs in a row here in the Mid-Atlantic. Anecdotal to be sure.

Wrong take. What the public knows or is told of is of no importance. Commie trash don’t CARE what you think you know. They are in charge and you can’t do anything about that.

The global warming lie has been going on for years — not that climate might be getting warmer, but that it has any link to CO2 or mankind’s actions are in any way involved in either.

I always found it interesting that, in the past, you could go to Marshall Space Flight Center Earth Science Branch ( https://weather.msfc.nasa.gov/goes/abi/goesEastconusband02.html ) and get the “next to” raw weather satellite images. The website would come up with the current GOES image of the continental US up, well past Hudson’s Bay. During the year, you could watch how long it took for the ice to melt on the bay, usually well into May and June before it was gone.

Then they cut off the image so you didn’t directly get Hudson’s Bay at all. You can see it, but, you have to dig through the site to find it.

I just pulled it up and there is still ice on the lakes and in Hudson’s Bay and it’s almost June.

Hudson’s Bay runs from about the same latitude as south England, north to the Shetlands.

I can’t find where the EUMETSAT site says that “arctic sea ice expanse so far this month is at a 30-year high”.

Water holds CO2. As water freezes....much CO2 released. Shocker.

“Thanks for providing that link-looking forward to checking it out.”

You’re quite welcome. I signed up awhile ago to comment on articles, but very reluctant to post. Some incredibly high powered scientists there.

Look into the history of the site, how the founders came to be.

Backstory: Anthony Watts and buddy absolutely destroyed Michael Mann’s “Hockey Stick” paper and theory. Showed it was complete scientific trash, if not outright fraud. And thus the “Deniar!!!!” group came to be. So he put up a site, and that’s where the high powered “Denier!!!” group hangs out.

I came to be a big fan of Lord Monckton, who besides being completely entertaining, is utterly fearless, and his material sent me in those directions.

I have visited the site in the past, but only through linked articles. I will check it out in depth, so...thank you!

How deep is that ice and how does that compare to the past coverage and depth?

We have very good ice concentration and ice extent data beginning in 1978, using a succession of satellite based microwave radiometers, SAR, and visible wavelength imagery. Ice depth data is a different matter entirely. Until the launch of ICESat-2 in September 2018, we had no precise way to measure ice surface height on a global scale. (LASER altimeter on ICESat-2 is much better than ESA's RADAR altimeter on Cryosat-2). So as regards ice thickness, we just don't have good data for comparison. Check back in about 30 years ... ;'}

Full disclosure: I spent 10 years working full time with SMMR and SSM/I ice data; I have personal contacts still in the ice measuring business.

Here is one for you only somewhat related but having to do with CO2, that toxic gas of pandemonium.

There has not been enough CO2 to kill the chicken flocks contaminated with avian flu around here because it is all being used to kick start marijuana plants so they will have more buds.

My guess is that ice cores would tell the tale. Question I have always had is what happens to the telltale in an ice core when you have a period of warming (melting) where all the accumulated information in the previous 1000 years is melted and lands at that 1000 year mark, followed by 1000 years of ice age where the ice builds tremendously. Can they tell that that amalgamation of material (which i refer to as data) at that 1000 year mark is actually 100s-1000s of years of material? Or is it assumed that some catastrophic event like a volcanic eruption took place at that point in time and that is what caused the abundance of material at that mark?
