Having lived and worked in Africa, a comment: Watch the Montreal, Canada based comedy group - Just For Laughs Gags. Pranks are often pulled on blacks. But in this case they are, for the most part, French speaking African immigrants. Compared to American blacks, there’s a big difference in how they respond.

Ha! I sometimes ask myself if I really did the things I remember doing when I was a kid. The answer, I’m afraid, is yes.
I have family who spent years in Africa. They say the same thing. They lived in a rural area that was 99.9% black. They said the black men there would never tolerate American Ghetto Behavior.

I am very sorry if this was your nephew. The friends who left him were punks. The thugs who beat him were/are chimp animals who need to be put down like the feral animals they are. I worked with ‘kids’ like this for three years and attempted to give them the education they were supposedly capable of getting. They weren’t.

I have known quite a few real Africans living in America. They are nothing like the ghetto breed. Real Africans are ambitious, law abiding, hard working, striving for the American dream. Real Africans are appalled by the so called "African-American".

I hope we all realize that if he had pulled this same trick on a cop the cop would have shot him to death without any second thought.
If a black kid pulled this on a cop the cop would have shot him to death also.
Getting involved in this altercation was very stupid. And the dead kid was the one who started the altercation.
Of course they shouldn’t have beaten him that badly, but if they had stopped at a broken nose, two black eyes and maybe a broken arm I would be thinking “he got what he deserved”.
