Trump has kicked around staging a large, flashy launch rally (with fireworks, of course) that would announce his White House bid before the 2022 midterm elections

The issue with Trump is that he excites the Democrat base just as much as the Republican base - for opposite reasons - but he motivates Democrats just as much as Republicans. Their irrational hatred is that bad.

Impressive though, I didn’t post a thread until about 3 years after joining.

Not so much that the Uniparty doesn’t have to resort to cheating.

And the more this top-down socioeconomic hell goes on, the fewer real Democratic voters there will be, which is most likely what happened in 2020.

I am happy to be on your “list.” Some can’t tolerate anybody who doesn’t necessarily agree with them about everything, or like to discuss differences. How small !!!

Not in enough numbers to win a general election.

Add to that the fact that DeSantis would turn-off much greater number of people by attacking Trump.

They would run from him in the general election handing the Dems the Presidency.

I appreciate your points and would go so far as to say Trump brings some things on himself. He seems to revel in controversy. That said, he gets things done.

The GOPe despises him, which means he was doing something right. And the Left clearly fears him. I think we would all sleep a lot better if he was president so I would support him if he ran.

As I said, I also like and admire DeSantis. But at the same time I think his appeal is somewhat limited. He doesn’t have the broad likability factor that is so essential to being elected president. And remember, he barely defeated Gillum to become governor. That should worry a lot of people.

I personally want someone who is non-politically correct, angry, and has an axe to grind with all the right people.

Trump fits that bill.

*************

Like you I prefer someone who has convictions, cannot be intimidated, loves to wheel and deal, and revels in political combat. In short, all the traits lacking in the GOP. ;)

We have a very tough battle ahead of us. I want a tenacious fighter on our side.

That said, DeSantis is a good guy and we’re fortunate to have him on our side. But Trump’s experience in the business world gives him the edge over DeSantis IMHO.

I like DeSantis, I really do. REALLY. In my estimation, I would like to see Trump get back in, not have to posture for another term and be able to kick ass and take names, then get DeSantis in for 2028, let him do a great job, and then run for four more years after that.

If that were to happen (and our country can hold together that long) that would give us a maximum of 12 years to undo the insanity put in place during the Obama years and this abortion of an Administration under Biden.

It may be a pipe dream. It may not happen. But that is what I would like to see happen.

I want someone who is angry and vengeful, which to me, will ensure he will go after the perpetrators of this, collegiality be damned. I don’t want to hear “My esteemed colleague on the other side of the aisle...” I want to hear “Those low down, no good, low IG

I guess that desire for someone “angry and vengeful” makes me a flawed Christian, but...I don’t see any other way around this. These people are out to destroy our country, and in the end, us.

Because I certainly have plenty of anger myself on this subject.
