Yep. One of the first steps to getting someone canceled or banned simply because you don’t like what they’re saying is to say they’re a troll. I’ve seen that used a lot. And I’ve also seen people, when they’ve run out of arguments, simply calling opponent of troll.
And it really has become a sort of dog whistle of the left. A post calling someone a troll is basically a call for them to be banned from the site since they’re “just trolling everyone”.
The argument is that if you are disagreeing with the majority it means you are a troll, and therefore you should be banned.
