Trains are the spiffy, speedy wave of the future!
It only takes three days to get from coast to coast on Amtrak.
That should be good enough for anybody...
Right?

same ol’ Democrat mass transit pie-in-the-sky nonsense (no solution for the last 10-20 miles to and from transit stations) ...

The Next Slum?
The subprime crisis is just the tip of the iceberg. Fundamental changes in American life may turn today’s McMansions into tomorrow’s tenements.

“Besides urban areas this won’t work. “

This won’t work because it never worked. Demonkraps don’t know how to work. They don’t know how to make things work, or run and maintain something built by others that has been entrusted to them to operate. All they know is how to destroy, lie, cheat, steal, slander, libel, and politicize everything... and that includes using the public treasury to line their own pockets, payoff their patrons. And then 5 years later, the story repeats itself.

Nobody outside of cities benefit. Demonkraps run the cities, therefore, only demonkraps benefit. I am against all funding of public transit - let the public transit users pay for it. let the demonkrap politicians sell their cars and use the systems they already built. Let them pay extra to capitalize the improvements. What’s stopping them?

If they could have foreseen a Biiden occurrence they would have invented something else.

Your suggestion should apply to all members of Congress, especially those who support public transportation. They need to sell their cars and ride with the commoners.

He’s already doing it with inflation. Soon even the trains and public transportation won’t be able to afford to run.

Passenger rail is already heavily subsidized. In metro regions, light rail and trains are 2/3rds subsidized, the fare box contributes less than a third of budgets.

Biden wants to take millions of cars off the road - likely because he'll tax people so much that they can't afford to keep a car.

I have taken the Wilmington to DC and DC to Wilmington Amtrak in years past. I am sure when Joe arrived at Union Station or Wilmington Station he had a limo take him the rest of the way, i.e. he did not walk the city streets, or take a bus ... to get to his next appointment. Amtrak is not like riding the PHL or NYC subway,... with urine filled seats, drug needles, vomit, etc. ... I am unimpressed that he rode Amtrak to/from DC.

He’s like someone who attended and graduated from Harvard, Columbia or Yale claiming they were educated in inner city schools.

I lived in Wilmington DE for 14 years and went to public school there. I assume you got off on MLK and went to Front & French for parking.
That’s not a wonderful place to have to walk multiple blocks from if needed.

- can’t haul a lot of items on your own to another place

My wife and I hauled over 1,000 pounds of rocks and gravel in our truck today. Easy trip to our home. Not so easy if we went by train (which isn't anywhere near the store or our home). I suppose we could do it one bag at a time (50-pound bags) but it would be an ordeal!
