The intimidation...I thought about that too. It’s wrong, and it turns people who support the police into people who mistrust or even hate the police.
But unless that intimidation is really, really bad I don’t think you can do much about it. I can’t imagine a judge siding with you just because you felt uncomfortable or nervous.
I guess you could file a complaint with the cop’s supervisors (which of course would do no good).
Including my own oldest son who attended college to earn his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement (he had a full ride to do so) and then became a cop out of college.
He quit in disgust during the "summer of love". He sees articles like this one and goes through the roof he gets so upset.
He lives with me and I heard it non-stop about how bad, stupid, evil and corrupt the cops in Uvalde, TX must be to stand by, do nothing and let all those kids and teachers die. He'd have done whatever he had to, to get in that classroom and take the shooter out asap. (I know this, I raised him. He has a very clear sense of right and wrong, good and evil.)
I'm at the point that personally, I don't trust anyone anymore. And I mean no one.
I was embarrassed,” the homeowner reportedly said. “My neighbors saw the whole thing.
Was that their point if any guns used near the area hey go check him out.....................................................
Same Guy?
Federal Agents are Government Employees, do not extended the paid staff an nation any favors, make them perform every required step and do not extend any information other than through a lawyer or a tax record reviewed by an accountant.
The ATF thug is using classic LE word phrases to get around needing a warrant to search a home.
The foyer is part of the “whole” of a house and if the thug is given permission to enter one part of the home, the consent is given to search the entire house.
There are several speech tricks LE use to gain permission that search a; Person, Vehicle, Home/Business.
So, I'd have said: "So when you presented to a Judge, the forms showing I'd purchase 2 guns, he agreed that was "Probable Cause" of a felony and signed off on a warrant?"
"Where is there evidence that buying 2 firearms at once is indicative of a straw purchase?"
"That sounds more like an excuse for a policy of intimidation."
They can stand on the porch.
In the hot sun.
Yes, I know it is not polite.
Don't care.
Repeat after me: “Hello, officers, I would absolutely love to help in your investigation, but upon the advice of my attorney, I cannot and will not talk to you without an attorney present. (hand over atty business card) I’m going to have to respectfully ask you to leave this property and contact him/her to set an appointment. You’ll love the attorney’s office and esp. the receptionist! Heck, we’ll even cater lunch for you nice boys. Have a nice day and stay safe”.
Don’t know about Delaware, but in giant swaths of the country, you not having the gun doesn’t mean much. A friend might be using it, you might have kept it a few weeks and decided you didn’t like it as much as you thought, or you needed to pay for a car repair. You could have sold it legally.
Not having that gun anymore proves nothing and they know it.
That is not evidence of a straw purchase.
And in states like Delaware, New Mexico, Washington etc that forbid private transfers, borrowing or gifting without going to a gun store for a background check, they can legally expect you to still have that gun. Other jurisdictions are requiring you to report the loss or theft of one also.
They are boxing people into a defacto registration list.
“You did nothing wrong – absolutely zero.” OK, have a good day. Slam!
"Interviews" can be conducted by phone, or even email. Why go to the time and expense of sending 3 police officers?

This makes my skin crawl.
To me, it looks like an intimidation campaign, and a trap.
The gun owner is in a bind. Hear me out please. He can tell this guy to come back with a warrant. It can be polite, or he can tell the guy to go eff himself. Whatever.
I see it as a Hobson's Choice. If he were to tell this scumbag to come back with a warrant, that will happen. Of course, it may be "served" ATF style, meaning ninjas raid your house at 0400, shoot your dog/ and or kids, and haul you out in cuffs in your underwear for the cameras. Hell, it could even be worse. Remember that Waco and Ruby Ridge were both cases of the ATF "serving warrants".
Then, they haul out all of your firearms and ammo, and display them for CNN and declare that you had an "arsenal", and that you are being investigated for links to domestic terror groups and may have ties to white supremacists". And why not? Such frivolous accusations are to convict you in the eyes of the public. Replay endlessly throughout the news cycle, and the job is done.
Furthermore, what kind of due process will you receive? Will you be held without charges and bail like the Jan 6th protestors? I have no idea. Will they bury you under false charges and bankrupt you in endless court proceedings? Will they threaten to destroy your adult children like they did to General Flynn? Once again, I don't know.
I'm not saying to roll over and comply with this modern day Gestapo. What I am saying is that the rule of law is dead and this is possibly much uglier than it seems at first.
I welcome any criticisms and input. That's why I posted.
