The Dutch government is pushing this. No other country is obliged to follow suit and ruin their own farmers. If pressure builds in the EU from countries in favor of it, the EU may try to enforce it. As it stands, only those countries who *want* to follow this path and signed up to it will do so. Countries that have no desire to enact such measures are not obligated to follow it.
The people of The Netherlands voted these yahoos into office. If they don’t like it, they can vote them out again.
The idea of interdepence has been around for several decades, but seldom seems to make it into news stories. Behind a lot of the trade agreements and other entanglements of international agreements is the idea of interdependence, that all nations will become interdependent, or dependent upon each other, and then peace and harmony and mutual and coequal interests will create the one world utopia.
Such thinking was used to help justify all the trade agreements that have helped turn Red China into the richest and most dangerous communist nation in history.
And such thinking also leads many Americans and other westerners to believe that surrendering our independence for this international interdependence is the way to go in the future.
Unless we fully discredit and destroy the current administration, and prevent their return- EVER- that will no longer be an option.

Another way it will happen is CRISPR Cas9 Gene Edited livestock(Epoch Times) which, like the plants grown in vertical farms, will be patented. Then you have Cultured Meat, also patented. Monsanto put a lot of farmer's out of business with their patented GMO seed and made a lot more farmers poorer once they had the soy/corn market cornered because their patented seed is expensive and it has to be purchased every year because you're not allowed to save their seed for next year's planting.
The UN always had their plans but couldn't do much with them until recent years when Tech billionaires got involved. The WEF is the major think tank for these rich techies and are on board with the UN Agenda.
Kill off traditional farming and change it to High Tech Patented farming owned by the self appointed masters of the globe.
