Public transportation - never a dull moment 🤪
Nine times out of ten, the human reaction to disaster is the same — to help. Maybe even 99/100 times. It is always heartening to see.

It was impressive to see the number of people who helped other passengers off the train, especially with the 3rd rail being so close. One would hope the driver would have called control to have the track de-energized, but who knows if the radio would even work on that old train, especially when the car is on fire.
Thats the Mystic river I believe. It fortells who will take the blame.

one straphanger resorted to jumping into the river below...
“The woman refused to get into the boat. She was provided a life jacket and proceeded to swim to shore … then she walked away,”
Wow that’s pretty wild, I wonder what’s up with her?
Much of it is delayed or cancelled maintenance/replacement. You can only kick the can down the road so far.
Look at the subway train in question - it’s rustier than a derelict Liberian freighter and it clearly dates to at least the 1980s.
Obviously caused by global warming.
It was probably cooler in the water - or perhaps she was uninterested in putting on an impromptu wet t-shirt show.
After your train spontaneously combusts, why would you get on another motorized transit? Humans can walk and swim and rely on themselves.
Van Morrison: Into The Mystic.
I heard the Hope Diamond was on that train, stored in a little vault right behind the driver. I’m guessing she blew the vault and stole the diamond.
(I was going to say a famous Rembrandt, but that would be tricky jumping into the water and all).
That looks like the bridge is pretty high above the water.
I thought it was only the government that helps people. /s
Yes it did look rather high above the water, and she jumped most likely not knowing there would be a rescue boat nearby. So she’s obviously a strong and confident swimmer not afraid of heights. I was thinking more along the lines of perhaps she was transporting drugs, but I like your Hope Diamond story better ;-).
That’s quite a drop!
“....what’s up with her?”
Self sufficiency!
Is that the red line?
