And even if the insured does that, the company will thoroughly investigate any big jewelry theft. Scams are too common.

And with the claimed total value being just over $1 million (even though the pieces listed in the article total about 300K), it’s quite likely that this guy just happens to have a $1 million policy. Hope he’s not counting on a check from the company any time soon...

Kidding aside-this has the strong odor of insurance fraud-and stupidly done, too-even a lazy claims investigator can see through it-I’d bet real money that there is an additional personal property rider on his policy for all that bling. That “bishop” is a scammer-needs to be busted for fraud...
