They are trying to make the military unattractive to conservatives and Christians, so as to get a military completely politicized in their own direction. This is not just some silly decision, but part of an overall strategy. The left has always been jealous of the justly earned respect we show to Active Duty and Honorably Served Veterans.
This Veteran suspects that insulting and offending those in will result in more good folks not re-enlisting and fewer highly qualified young folks enlisting or ROTCing.
Note to (Navy Veteran) DeSantis, Sir, please consider this as an important issue for future campaigns.

It’s simple.
They all show up in civvies on charter ships in Long Beach harbor.
Since it would be racist to deny them entry, they simply walk ashore.
And since we have a 2nd amendment, we would have no right to demand they disarm.
Presto! Millions of ChiCom troops successfully invade.
After that they will just billet themselves in Torrance, Irvine and Monterey Park since they probably all have relatives living there.
If the Brandon administration is still in power, they’ll just give them voting rights and they will simply vote themselves into key positions.
Not a shot fired and...they win.
