I liked this piece. It gave me a sense of calm that I need to exude when attacked or ridiculed for my faith. I especially liked these two statements:

Why use a nickle word when you can use a $25 word that no one understands? Quotidian - daily. Sisyphean - a rock eternally rolls back on Sisyphus, a task is never able to be accomplished. Risible - laughable.
Why do tyrants of the mind find Christianity the greatest hate target? Because in Matthew 16 (24-26) Jesus said “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
He calls upon us to suffer. Without understanding his reasons, everyone automatically thinks suffering is ultimately bad. Without learning about why he calls on us to take up our crosses, we individually tend to think suffering is the ultimate evil. “The world hates you because it first hated me.” Tyrants can easily manipulate masses of people by organizing this hatred.
Jesus had a mother who called upon him to perform his first miracle, changing water into wine at a wedding. This mother is a powerful spiritual force. If you pray to her, you will receive benefit from her.
“According to you. Where does your authority to interpret the Bible for me, or for anyone else other than yourself, come from”
Forgive them... they just cant help themselves...
It’s not the rosary he fears, but the prayers which he can form no weapon against them.
I loved the $25 words. I looked them up too. I’m going to have to start using those in my vocabulary, especially quotidian and risible. It will help to educate others when I do (just as I have now been educated).
To your point on suffering, if I have not suffered through some things, have I been any better a person? We must sometimes suffer in order to become stronger. Bad things may batter us, but we get a stronger “backbone” because we triumphed over it.

Unfortunately, lots of people choose to believe that tagging themselves a “catholic” is somehow their golden ticket to Heaven.

I’ve been a Catholic for over 70 years and not a single one I’ve ever known believed such nonsense. On the other hand I have met many many members of various protestant sects who devoutly believe that because they responded to an “altar call” and professed Him as their Lord and Savior they’re immediately saved and can never be lost. Now that’s a golden ticket to Heaven that much to their horror will actually turn out to be a ticket to Hell on the day of their judgement! Might that also include YOU? Why don’t you tell us all about it?
Not biblical. Water baptizing children does NOT turn them into tiny Christians.

Satan enjoys a never-ending stream of such “biblical scholars” which is why there’s a never-ending proliferation of street-corner churches popping up all over the planet! I’ve been fascinated by the Pentecostal Holiness Snake Handlers since reading a book about one of their churches where several preachers died after being bitten by those nasty serpents!

Not so! According to all protestant fundamentalists and most all evangelicals once they’ve responded to an altar call and publicly professed Jesus Christ as their “personal” Lord and Savior there’s literally “no way in Hell” that they can lose their salvation. Ipso facto, “judgement day” is for everyone else but never for them! Ain’t such biblical interpretation wonderful???
I suspect we get a review too, if for nothing more tha to tell us well done thou good and faithful servant.
I don’t believe that everyone who says they knew Jesus will be saved.
