Before the laser was invented, there was the maser.

A maser (acronym for microwave amplification by stimulated emission of radiation) is a device that produces coherent electromagnetic waves through amplification by stimulated emission. The first maser was built by Charles H. Townes, James P. Gordon, and Herbert J. Zeiger at Columbia University in 1953.

That was the plan until WEF allied governments began shutting down the unicorn farms. Last I heard they were going to add more crew to the ships and force feed them all Skittles.

For years, the biggest drawback was not the power supply, but the ridiculous amount of cooling such lasers needed, and the damage all that heat caused the laser.

But in the last several years, somebody came up with a simple, ingenious solution: using many lasers in tandem.

Each laser fires at a directional mirror, then switches off with the next laser when it starts to get hot. The end result being a bunch of lasers firing like a Gatling gun, sending an almost constant stream of laser light downrange.

And Hopefully it works better than the Freedom-class LCS that Lockheed-Martin
built for the Squids...

It will be a great way to point out targets for the gunners to aim at.
