I don’t think a Virgina governor has the power to actually force the resignation. That’s why school board elections are important. Most people ignore them. If enough conservatives showed up for them, they could be transformed in one fell swoop.

Yes, the Loudon county situation ran all the way from the local school board, through the local government to the state AG and the governor’s office to the White House, the US AG and the FBI. It would have been swept completely out of sight and out of mind if that Dad hadn’t stood up and made a nuisance of himself.
I think that situation did as much as anything to get local conservatives running for school board seats.
