Obama has something like 40 acres of beach front property. That should accommodate at least 200 illegals. They don’t take up that much land

I recommend St. Lawrence Island as a destination.

We don't have the services to take care of 50 immigrants

Yeah, but she doesn't mind that our treasonous potus is bringing millions of crimigrants here that somebody has to care for.

Liberals are so obtuse it's comical.

3.2 Million people visit Martha's Vineyard every year...

50 people are a joke....

What....No. Section 8 in Martha's Vineyard...it's about time.

“This is the perfect opportunity to address a local need with high-density affordable housing and maybe some Section 8.”

Absolutely. The Kelo Supreme Court decision gave government the power to condemn private property and turn it over to a developer for private development in the public good. Many of the homes of the wealthy are on large pieces of property. For example the Obama estate is 29 acres, Diane Sawyer’s is 17.5 acres. Take some of this acreage, give a minority developer a HUD grant for section 8 housing and develop large multifamily affordable housing on the excess land of the celebrity estates.

This project is a win for everyone. The wealthy estate owners will enjoy lower costs not having to maintain huge acreage. Plus they will have the opportunity to rub shoulders with the disadvantaged people they advocate for. Many working poor servants of the wealthy will have a shorter commute by being able to afford housing on the island. More illegals can be settled in communities where the property owners can afford the higher taxes to provide social services for the illegal immigrants.

The wealthy continuously preach “diversity is our strength”. What better way to walk the talk than to live in a diverse community?

There’s room for 13 families in that house.

Just review Doctor Zhivago for tips on how its done.

1. MV already has a housing problem, since the home values (and thereby the property taxes) has exploded since becoming (another) haven for the rich and used-to-be-famous.

2. The same situation has already happened and currently exists in multiple locations across the US, especially where rural land prices have exploded since the rich want out of the cities that they created.

3. Forget the poor, the middle class can’t afford to live in places where they have lived for decades. That’s one reason why states like Texas will freeze property taxes once one hits age 65.

4. MV does not have a lot of hotels but does have a huge amount of day rentals and AirBnBs. It is the off-season, after all. Confiscate those from the wealthy owners safely ensconced in Boston and NYC, or long time property owners that now own a large part of MV Housing. After all, lefties don’t believe in property rights for those living in Texas, Florida and Arizona.

As Tourist Season ends, thousands of motel and hotel rooms become available on Martha’s Vineyard. We likely will not have that absolute fact reported on ‘The News.’

MV is not a city. It is an island with 6 different townships.

"homeless coordinator in Martha's Vineyard"

Now that there is a job that confuses my senses. There were zero homeless people in Martha's Vineyard. This person and her agency needs a closer inspection from our listless obedient state media.
