Well, to be honest, this was very accurate on the southern front.

We shall see on northern front. The Russians are digging in to hold Lyman. The Ukrainians have yet to really do urban battles in retaking ground. This really could go either way.

It really has some similarities to Stalingrad. We shall see who is on which side, including the time of year and climate.

“Yep, and remember all the “Battle of the Bulge” predictions?
Those didn’t age well either.

The Russians’ northern flank is getting rolled up like a rug.”

If there is a “storm” on the way, then US recon satellites and signals intelligence would know all about it. Even you lot were complaining that it wasnt fair for the US to be providing this info to Ukraine.

Since, thanks to the US, Ukraine can “see over the hills” operationally, then the Ukrainians are very unlikely to be surprised by any substantial Russian offensive. If they know what and where, they would be acting accordingly.

Russia went to war with mostly pre 1990s technology. The Ukrainians have been aided immensely by modern Western technologies.

Not only has Russia been humiliated and suffered serious losses, it now has immense strategic problems. NATO now knows that Russia is not a conventional military offensive threat and the Chinese know Russia cannot with conventional forces defend their rich underpopulated Asia Pacific territories or the treasure house of Siberia.

Suspect the Russian and Chinese general staffs are avidly war gaming “limited nuclear war”. Without nuclear weapons, Russia would be much smaller.

Make a solid prediction about Lyman today. You already hinted, but spell it out.

It may be a Stalingrad.

As far as anyone know there are only BARS 13 & 16 reservists in the city. So Stalingrad not happening.

Moreover, Lyman, which has no tactical or strategic significance, is not an objective but a incidental conquest on the way to taking the strategic goal of Svatore.

The Ukrainians dont have to go in to dig them out. Since the perimeter is already collapsing, the entire pocket is going to be rather small. The Ukrainians will probably leave behind a militia brigade to hold the siege lines, and the remainder of those other brigades in the area can disengage and go do something else.

The pocket can be waited out. Its going to be far in the Ukrainian rear.

This is not about Leftists, Soros, Globohomoism, or other Russian protagonists’ distractions. This is about Russia invading and annexing Ukraine and killing its people.

-Russia invaded and annexed Chechnya.
-Russia invaded and annexed Georgia.
-Russia invaded and annexed Crimea.
-Russia invaded and is attempting to annex Ukraine.
-Russia invaded and annexed LPR.
-Russia invaded and annexed DPR.
-Russia has declared its intention to invade and annex Moldova.
-Russia has declared its intention to invade and annex the Baltic states -NATO members.

NATO is correct to arm Ukrainians to fight Russia in Ukraine to avoid nuclear war when Russia attacks the Baltic States.

Russia’s conventional forces are vastly inferior to NATO’s which compels it to first-use nuclear weapons when attacking NATO countries.

Putin is pushing an “I win or everyone loses” strategy. NATO and the rest of the world has had enough.

Russia was provoked unceasingly after the homoglobalists -> installed <- their leader after creating a color revolution.

Russian speaking Zelensky was elected (wait, your now going to tell me his 70% is not legit and the “referndum” results that would make Saddam blush is okydoky)

Zelensky was elected. How is this a “provocation” to Russia?

because they would have to nuke actual Russian territory and people

Wild Russian talk is about nuking Kiev and US targets.

These are very good points.

The Ukes have basically free and unlimited satellite and signals intel and state-of-the-art ordnance, and, yeah, they’ve probably well-penetrated the Russians at the HUMINT level.

The Russians aren’t allowed to interdict any of these supports, while they have to suffer under sanctions from the supporters.

The only way Putin beats this is with a huge infantry and ground mobility edge, which he evidently does not have.

Well, there are the remnants of all the other units that were engaged on all the other places on the front, including several of which were substantial enough to counterattack for a couple of days there. All of these seem to be retreating towards Lyman.

One of these units is whichever it was that was holding Yampil. They abandoned Yampil today apparently, and evacuated towards Lyman.

I expect Lyman will get quite a collection of odds and sods, remnants of this and that.
