I remember when SS was for old people who worked all their lives.
Sigh.
>>> Medicare premium is also going up <<<
This year, Brandon stopped covering certain insulin products under Medicare so the premiums will remain stable. I could be wrong.
According to the article, Med Part B is being reduced by about 3% next year.
+1000 ! And if you are on the low end of the SS pay scale, and on food stamps, they reduce those, too.
It’s supposed to be a cost of living increase, but it’s treated as a raise. My landlord wants to raise my rent
If the government can just keep printing money why is anyone still paying taxes?
I recall a rough spot in my life where my son took an afterschool job bagging groceries. He had the added benifit of bringing home food items as well. When it was no longer necessary for him to work, about three months, he insisted on continuing. He liked that the money now made would be his!
Ho-grannies care for twice welfared kids
I think sometimes folks on Social Security want the lifestyle they once had. You have to adjust spending and curtail your life to a simpler lifestyle and find contentment in that. You can make ends meet if willing to make those adjustments.
When I retired, as in my life before, I adjusted whatever was necessary to live within my means. Some resent having to do that but I found a simpler life is an easier life. No big house to take care of, less clutter and a whole lot more freedom.
All the other parts go up - over all medicare increase (last I heard) was 14%.
The article may not be correct, in any case.
The girl has braided hair. From the internet:
How much does it usually cost to get your hair braided? “For a trained braid professional, the average cost could range from $300 to $600,” says Ransome. “This includes, but is not limited to, size, length, technique, style (boho with curly ends), color mix, and more.” Remember you aren’t just paying for someone’s expertise, either—time is a major factor here.Dec 4, 2020
70 yr. old Cassandra could eat far less than her obese body tells us. And likly her 12 and 16 yr old grandkids could do some yard work etc. to help.
I was just 7 when a neighbor boy and I raked leaves and cleaned porches to make money.
I’m afraid certain people in society who receive benifits of any kind are never satisfied. ..and always claiming victumhood 24/7.
I was surprised in Florida with a community who were getting the same help as others yet complaining. It just seems to be in certain mindsets that it’s never enough.
One word (hyphenated): CLOWARD-PIVEN
We should know in a few weeks.
The author of this idiotic article is most likely a writer for soap operas in his/her spare time.
From the photo it looks lik Grandmom is the one “eating everything!”
Hope she doesn’t count on that money BECAUSE they will be raising her Medicare substantially to take it away as fast as she thinks she is going to get it!!
You might be surprised how many people you know were know
were raised by their grandparents.
It’s not unusual at all.
Parents split up. Neither of them can afford to raise the
kids on their own. One of the parents may not be working,
or may have walked out leaving the only option an adoption.
Many grandparents step in because they can’t stand the idea
of losing contact with the kids, or having them raised by a
non family member.
SS is not a Ponzi scheme. A Ponzi scheme is a voluntary scheme and SS is mandatory although the effect is the same.

The article may not be correct, in any case.
The standard monthly premium for Medicare Part B enrollees will be $164.90 for 2023, a decrease of $5.20 from $170.10 in 2022.
