The ‘Tards at PP have been anti-2A from shortly after inception.
Cancelled my account long ago, I am disappointed they still exist at all.
Yah yah, private company and all that.
But we are not Forced to use them and they are not a monopoly so just find another company.
I’ve returned to paper checks.

They would cancel your account and debit your linked bank account the $2,500. The $2,500 fee is still being used by PayPal. If you say something hateful then they will still debit your account. The $2,500 fee was created in September 2021 and was first linked to hateful content.

We use money orders, or teller checks, free from our credit union, for purchases online whenever we can, so we don’t have to send a personal check with all our info on it, like bank, account number, name, address, phone number..................

Seriously, how stupid are these CEOs? Who “advises” them?

I think all large business genre just trade leadership rather than bring in fresh blood. All of their Harvard School of Business grads are classmates too. They all have had the same training (indoctrination).

I worked 25 years with aerospace, nine years as a customer, 16 years as an employee. One thing I noticed is that executive management just rotates through the various companies over time.

Same guys, same attitudes, different business cards.

PayPal owns Venmo. My tenants pay the rent with Venmo.

Most of the time I can use a credit card for purchase, if not a MO usually works.
I now take more paper checks as payment and cash them via a phone app.
The killer line with PP is the “Sole discretion”, no appeal, no third party to weigh the charge, they are the PC police, Judge, Jury, and Executioner!
Several folk I know ran afoul of their anti-2A policies then had to sue to get their funds released.
If freedom loving Americans were paying attention PP would already be defunct.

... the company's now-reversed policy that would fine users $2,500 if they were to allegedly promote "misinformation" ...

followed by

An AUP notice recently went out in error that included incorrect information.

Seems to me that for posting misinformation PayPal now owes their users $2,500 each.

...they could freeze my account?

Worse than that.

They could charge your bank account for $2500.

It gets worse.

If you have a personal account for purchases only, they could charge your credit card for that $2500.

Per each post on any social media.

That is quite a large potential tab. They have a link on their website for informants to report "violations". No one should presume that a handle on any social media is truly anonymous or untraceable.

If we operated under rule of law, imposing these kinds of terms would be considered theft, extortion, and fraud, impermissible in any sort of "agreement" or terms of service. Executives should be prosecuted and jailed for this sort of criminal activity.

Time to drop all things PayPal.

Paypal was never a big thing for me, back when EBay had it “hooked in” I used, and did occassionally use it rather than putting my credit card info into yet another web site.... But honestly hasn’t been a major part of my life for a long time.

After this nonsense, I’m done.

I don’t care if they backpedalled, the fact they thought this was even an option worth consideration tells me all I need to know about them... I am done.
