Something I recall from a long ago visit to the Southern California coastline was the spindely TV antennas mounted fairly high above roofs in the residential areas. I thought, these people must never get any wind. Later I learned about santa ana winds but they seemed more about keeping fire fighters employed than blowing trash off the streets.
