What’s the point? They get welfare of all sorts, free school, free medical care, immunity from criminal prosecution, AND they get to vote?

“because they face intense pressure from the national investors who provide a massive share of the party’s funds.”
I wouldn’t drop pocket change to help mccarthy’s reelection, but I do hope he doesn’t want to be the next in a long line of failed leaders and will take these issues to heart. But at the end of the day, this sentence will dictate Republican policy.

Instead, we’ll do several incomprehensible amnesty deals.

How about no more "comprehensive" budget bills, too?
Let's go back to 20 or so department-specific budget bills, like it was done before Harry Reid corrupted the process.

I wish Mr. McCarthy would make a couple of statements: “Our immigration system is not broken. What is broken is the refusal of the Biden administration to enforce our immigration laws.” and “Comprehensive immigration reform is simple—Enforce our existing immigration laws.”

This is whats going to lead us after November. Here we go again folks. They said nothing all this time about things the American people are screaming about for 2 years.

Not much confidence in McCarthy here - this statement simply means that what the Dems want on the issue must be negotiated piecemeal, not “comprehensive”. He’s a horse trader without a horse at this point.

Here's how it worked in the past - A deal between the two parties would be made:
Democrats would agree to either send home illegals or to stop them from coming in. Republican's would agree to allow a certain number of illegals already here to become citizens.
Democrats would lie - they would fund the part of the bill that allowed illegals to become citizens - then they would NOT fund that part about building a wall, fence, or whatever. Democrats always lied. American citizens died.
Republicans were always gullible - afraid of being called racist.
If our guys are ever that spineless and stupid again we'll vote them all out of office. Every last damn on of 'em.

I remember the Reagan Amnesty was to be the final compromise with a promise of no further amnesty. No promise is permanent in politics.
