Japan needs to be an entirely new different kind of military, one built around billions of drones.

They have the technology to do it, and drones and swarms in particular are the warfare of the future IMO.

155mm howitzer ammo is completely useless in a naval war.

The only case where arty comes in is if China stupidly attempts a landing on Taiwan.

Taiwan already has lots of artillery, critical to defend against a landing, but the battles for the beaches will be decided in hours, not months. They will use up a lot of short-range guns but relatively little ammo. A successful Chinese landing means Taiwan is done for, a failed landing will result in a catastrophic slaughter.

Pretty sure they could have effective deliverable nukes inside 48 hours or less

Probably just need to bring some components to the same facility

There wil be no ground war. The PLAN will squeeze Taiwan with an air tight blockade.

Quite. That is exactly what I expect them to do.

We exported western prosperity to Taiwan at the expense of the US working class. Now Taiwan is soft and lazy and will probably fall in the end. If that happens can we have our jobs back?

If Taiwan falls to the CCP Japan is beaten—they know it and so does China—Thats why Xi will act BEFORE Biden is taken out of power soon. Taiwan’s days are numbered as is Ukraine’s.

Taiwan is a small place with few people, it took very few jobs, if you want to look at it that way. Taiwan has become a high cost, extremely high skill country, and is no longer taking any US jobs.

Its exporting jobs now, some to the US -

Note that TSMC’s current IP (intellectual property) is entirely homegrown. US industry is still well behind TSMC’s 2-3 nm abilities.

Horse sh!t. The globalsit Free Traitors™ that exported wafer production and the expertise to an island just off the coast of China should all be shot, then hung.

I doubt it. Ukraine has won already, and Taiwan can hold. The Chinese have a very difficult problem, in that they do not control the seas, yet. They will suffer massively in the attempt, as they cant protect their shipping, their fleet, their trade, or their infrastructure.

A real war of this scale will be an incredibly costly, cruel thing.

Its dumb to start something now. All they have to do is wait.
Biden is irrelevant. He is just a facade. US problems are way more severe than just one administration, and another administration, even if run by angels and sages, wont fix them. Trump cant save America. The US is toast, ultimately. But not just yet.

China would be foolish to underestimate the JMSDF even today.

Proven maritime warriors, and an embedded culture of it going back 1000 years.

With US technology.

Interesting take. Despite their cultural oddities, the Japanese are a serious, detail oriented people. The ones that gravitate towards the military are probably more so. As a relatively homogeneous culture (especially compared to us) they will take survival seriously.

Taiwan is in trouble. What they need are a lot of minesweepers.

Taiwan cant protect the minesweepers, if it comes down to it.
And its not really about mines, its way bigger than that.
There are a dozen ways to hit a merchant ship.
All China needs to do is declare a blockade. No regular merchant ship will dare make the voyage. All insurers will instantly bail.

To break it the US will have to organize a series of escorted “Malta Convoys” and dare the Chinese to stop them. That may or may not kick off open war. The scenario proceeds from here.

“is one Hypersonic barrage from leaving the Pacific Theater for good”

Ludicrous.

You have never been at sea on a warship, that is apparent.

The US OWNS the Pacific.

China is trying to carve off a lake around Taiwan and Hainan island.

The PLAN will crater every runway and mine every harbor on day one. Fortunately Taiwan’s prize export, micro processors and memory chips, could be smuggled off the island in small boats to awaiting submarines. So a blockade will never be 100% effective.

“ 3 light/helo carriers to add to the USN’s 9 LHA’s.

13 very modern submarines.”

And drone capabilities from the helo carriers.
