FDR was in idiot before he ever ran for office. His only assets, like Obama and Bubba, were his charisma and his skill at lying with a straight face.

Charisma is a great asset to a politician, and a horrible failing in a statesman. FDR’s belief that he had charmed Stalin at Yalta led straight to the disastrous peace after WW2, and to the debilitating Cold War that in some ways is still going on. Churchill knew, but England was so deeply in debt to the USA by then that he could not prevail.

Yeah. I admire him. His flaws make him even better. It seems the politicians are changelings who present different things to many different people, but the impression I have of Churchill is, he was the same, always, to everyone.

He was himself, not what he thought people wanted to see.

MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell is completely right when he says Fetterman did have a few big positive moments during his debate against Dr. Oz such as the following exchange (paraphrased):

Moderator: Mr. Fetterman, you once said you were against fracking. Now you say you're for fracking. How do you reconcile those two opposing views that you've held?
Fetterman: Um, the uh, I am for fracking. I always for fracking. Me like fracking, I'm pro-fracking yes. Yes, for the fracking. Fracking good. Fracking, fracking.
Moderator: But you once said you were anti-fracking which conflicts with your current pro-fracking view. How do you respond?
Fetterman: Yes, that would be correct. Fracking. Is good fracking. Me likes fracking. Yes, yes. Fracking ok. Good fracking. Fracking yes, yes. Fracking is ok by me. Fracking again. Fracking is good, fracking. Fracking.
