Therefore NATO has no business whatsoever being involved, period!

Fine by me, Ivan! Which means no NATO promise not to admit Ukraine as a member, and no lifting of sanctions by NATO members. Sanctions stay, and NATO can offer Ukraine membership any time it so chooses.

I mean, I'd prefer that the sanctions never be lifted, but I don't think the Germans and French would go along with that, unfortunately.

I’d prefer the sanctions never be lifted either.
Enjoy watching the West/US/UK/EU economically implode......

"They’re not going to talk about dropping sanctions unless Russia fully withdraws from Ukraine and the borders are returned to where they were before the invasion."

Ha, ha. Which invasion? The first invasion.

"...don’t hold your breath for any sort of a breakthrough before Thanksgiving."

It's not going to happen this year at all, and it's all up to the Ukrainians. "The West" will not negotiate in their stead.

RE: I seriously doubt they would accept any treaty that prevents them from establishing military alliances with other nations.

History — In the 1994 Budapest Agreement ( AKA Budapest Memorandum ), where Ukraine gave up its Soviet era nuclear weapons, the security assurance prohibited the three super powers — the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom and the United States from threatening or using military force or economic coercion against Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, “except in self-defence or otherwise in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations.”

According to the three memoranda, Russia, the US and the UK confirmed their recognition of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine becoming parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and effectively abandoning their nuclear arsenal to Russia and that they agreed to the following:

* Respect the signatory’s independence and sovereignty in the existing borders ( yes, the EXISTING BORDERS, which at that time, included Crimea and the Donbas regions ).

* Refrain from the threat or the use of force against the signatory.

* Refrain from economic coercion designed to subordinate to their own interest the exercise by the signatory of the rights inherent in its sovereignty and thus to secure advantages of any kind.

* Seek immediate Security Council action to provide assistance to the signatory if they “should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used”.

* Refrain from the use of nuclear arms against the signatory.

* Consult with one another if questions arise regarding those commitments.

A lot of good that agreement did to Ukraine.

And Russia won’t economically implode?

From the pro-Ukrainian propaganda outlet:

‘As Europe falls into recession, Russia climbs out’
https://www.economist.com/finance-and-economics/2022/10/11/as-europe-falls-into-recession-russia-climbs-out

Enough said.

RE: ‘As Europe falls into recession, Russia climbs out’

So, what interest would Russia have in ending the war if doing so is to their economic advantage? ( e.g. they are not in recession while their enemies are ).

I would think that they would want to PROLONG this condition as long as they can because it helps their economy.

The Russians are prolonging it....with the help of ZelenskyyIdiot and the West/UK/US/EU/NATO not wanting to come to the table to negotiate even after sabotaging 2 possible peace deals.

Have you not noticed the continued economic decay of the West/UK/US/EU/NATO along with Ukraine?

Have you not noticed the continued depletion of military hardware and munitions of the West/UK/US/EU/NATO to re-supply Ukraine with military hardware that is routinely getting wrecked as fast as it enters the battlefield?

Yeah, prolonging has its advantages.

RE: Yeah, prolonging has its advantages.

Well, then all these talk about conditions being set to end the war ( as this article is telling us ) are not really serious. IF ( and that is a big if ), Russia is doing so well economically and societally because of this war, I would think that it is in their interest to continue it as long as they can.

Just continue it and watch your enemies implode while you prosper.

Talks, what talks?

Cause all the place I go to daily regarding this war/conflict have not once indicated any type current “talks”.

Except here.

Hmmm.

There are no talks. There are CONDITIONS being set for talks.

But why even bother, if Russia is doing so well? Don’t set any conditions for any talks, just continue the status quo since it’s good for the Russian economy and people are prospering apparently.

Exactly. This is pretty clearly just Russian PR because they have no incentive to end a war that 1) is making their economy stronger, and 2) is destroying western militaries. I’m not exact sure why Lavrov would even need propaganda on his side given that Russia is both winning and growing stronger, but I suppose...”reasons”.

There are no ‘conditions’ other than Ukraine’s unconditional surrender of the Banderist Kyiv Regime.

Till then, the dismantling of the NEOCON Ukraine project continues on.

RE: There are no ‘conditions’ other than Ukraine’s unconditional surrender of the Banderist Kyiv Regime.

That’s not what Lavrov is hinting at as presented this article.

SO you’re telling us that the entire thing is simply a head fake and that he’s not really serious.

Wait, your basis for this entire “talks” bit is Lavrov “hinting”?

The dismantling of the NEOCON Ukraine project carries on.

By the term “Dismantling of the NEOCON Ukraine project”, what exactly do you mean?

Yes, otherwise why even present conditions?

Speaks for itself.

As for placing your whole worldview of the war/conflict on the jackasses that write at Hotair, you might want to reconsider such.
