I agree this was a huge Dem win. They kept the campaign promise, now don’t have to pay for it, and can blame the nasty conservative judges. Well played Dems.
It was Congress’ fault for passing the HEROES Act, which states the Secretary of Education can dissolve student debt in times of national emergency. It passed easily, at the time. It was meant for soldiers in the Iraq War to get some restructured (not forgiven) student loan terms.

Exactly right. Biden’s giveaway attempt lasted long enough to get past the election.

LOL! You should have seen Patty Murray’s commercials here in Washington. She got this group of older (age 50+), female veterans to talk about abortion! It was ridiculous!

They are still handing out phones plus housing and food stamps. Depending on what 4 star hotel they are put in they also get room service and laundry service.
I homeless guy in San Francisco said they pay us to be homeless they give them phones with Netflix and Amazon Prime plus $600 a month cash and food stamps. Homeless is good.

That was mighty convenient how the courts dragged their feet before ruling on its illegality. Not the first time we have been played.

"Actually (and I’m against mass loan forgiveness), one problem (some would say) about student loan debt is that most people with it DIDN’T graduate. They don’t have their college diplomas. They have huge debt and nothing to show for it. It’s easier to get into college (especially for-profit ones which are very pricey thanks to the availability of student loans) than to complete it."What's the problem? That they borrowed money and things didn't go according to plan? They still signed the loan. It is a legal contract.
These folks want to be treated like adults until it comes to the responsibility part.
On top of the moral problems with "forgiving" debt, why should responsible citizens be forced to pay it off?

And even though it was completely unconstitutional, they get to blame its failure on a republican judge.
