This report is over blown - the critical stock pile of weapons and rounds is just fine.

“You’re wrong. If you really think “Ukraine is a money laundering scheme to funnel tax payer money through Ukraine back to politicians and their friends in the Defense industry”, then you also have to think that Putin launched the invasion to make US politicians rich and bolster the US defense industry. Since that is absurd, you’re wrong, really, really wrong.”

Good point. However Hunter Biden’s records show otherwise. Ukraine would be getting billions of foreign and military aid regardless of Putin’s invasion. Putin’s war is a money tree for the connected and Ukrainian boys are watering it with their blood.

Once again, you are correct.

The term is "War Reserve Materiel" or WRM. WRM are stocks of “mission-essential secondary items, principal and end items, and munitions,” to “attain and sustain operational objectives in scenarios” authorized by the Department of Defense (DOD).

Every combat coded unit maintains a WRM list and the status of that list is provided with every C-Status report.

You’re naive to believe conspiracy theories as absurd as that.

“Every combat coded unit maintains a WRM list and the status of that list is provided with every C-Status report.”

Two points:

1. There is a an automatic process where these items will be identified and included into the budget when levels drop enough (multi-year replenishment), as well as the proactive reordering (which can be same year) that has already been occurring.

2. Defeating Russian aggression/destroying Russian Military capability was was the threat for which a lot of this stuff was planned and budgeted for anyway. There is a corresponding reduction of that threat, as these stocks are being expended.

“Ukraine is not ours. Dump the obsession with this problem.”
************

No it’s not ours. But, the Ukraine is taking care of business for us when it comes to Russia. If we support the Ukraine to a successful conclusion Russia will be reduced to a third world country and will not be a threat to the U.S. or the EU for the foreseeable future. Thereby, we will be able to focus on the China problem.

Putinist doggerel designed to hurt Ukraine and favor surrender to Putler’s murderous expansionist dictatorship. The fact is a lot of this “replacement” equipment is due to orders from Australia, Estonia, Poland, and Taiwan. Any money the “Pentagon” spends will be reimbursed by these sales.

$2 or 3 billion is nothing. The foreign sales of this system will more than make up for it. And the Pentagon has a $750 billion budget. This “depletion” they speak of is miniscule.

The US has given Ukraine 20 Himars systems. The US military has over 400 such systems. The US military was planning to order more ANYWAY. The goal is to have over 500.

The Stinger missile system is now obsolete in electronics. It must be replaced anyway. Long before RuSSia invaded Ukraine, the request went out for a replacement system.

The M113 armored carriers sent to Ukraine are obsolete. It will be replaced ANYWAY.

The Javelin missile system has several pending orders for foreign sales. Several countries want to buy the system.

The US gave Ukraine 170 M777 howitzers. Still has over 500 howitzers still in stock.

Most of the rest of US shipments have been ammunition and small arms. Ukraine has received no planes, tanks, helicopters, and no IFV’s.

Ukraine has been given relatively little, and still RuSSia was reversed.

But Putnists are not bothered by facts.

Because that’s what the DOD says - take it up with them, not the messenger.

Take a guess who all has stock in the companies who are replenishing stocks.

A lot of D.C. folks in that arena Nancy knows nothing about that gig.

Why is everyone who is skeptical of the monetary and equipment contributions to Ukraine a “putanist” or whatever you said?

Am I an “election denier” because I question the results of 2020 and 2022? Do you have questions about the election conduct or results?

Am I a science denier because I had questions about the origin of covid? Am I a science denier because I questioned the efficacy of the covid vaccine? Do you have the same questions?

Be slow to throw out general labels. I trust our current government so little that I truly believe that there is more to the Ukraine invasion than “putin bad.”

Sure, putin needs to die. But, surely you can understand why there are questions surrounding this conflict. That doesn’t make anyone fit in your little “putinist” box.

Also, just curious where you’re getting your inventory information. Are you active duty or DOD civilian?
