Carriers to fight airfields is why carriers carry lots of airplanes. It also helps that a major NATO backing submarine has left Gibralter and is/has moved toward the Black Sea. Submarines are so much harder to see than ships. And this one carries weapons that can easily reach Moscow. Check.

The US sub is in the Med - Turkey will not allow it to pass into the Black Sea nor does it need to, and besides its a fish in a barrel with no place to hide in the Black Sea.
I knew it could not go into the Blaxk Sea, but didn’t know how to spell Med... and too lazy to look it up. ;-)
