I have yet to buy one item on my Christmas shopping. First of all, I haven’t made a list. Secondly, everything is so costly it is depressing to even think about. This year, each grandchild will receive a book, a new money bank, an item of clothing (or boots) and one toy item they have expressed an interest in.

Other than that, I’ll give them some money to put in their piggy banks. Each year I get them a new bank and they have the goal of filling it before next Christmas. Hubby and I conveniently leave our pocket change on an end table and when they visit they divide it up for their banks. When they reach the age of 18, they can take the money to use as they wish or continue to save.

I’m with ya. I pick up Black Friday items, online, like socks, essentials and any electronic needs.
