“”How dumb can you be?””
Sort of like my 110lb wife at an “All you can eat” buffet line. She views it as a challenge.
Back in the 70s, a friend of my brother’s made a batch of brownies with a healthy dose of pot integrated into the recipe. I ate ONE PIECE and I remember very little of that night…
And just add in the amount of alcohol guests drank as well, to magnify the effect.
just look at how things worked out for Casey Jones
Yup, happened to me a few times. In the late 1960's I looked like a stoner hippie. Drove a couple friends to a Winterland concert in San Francisco, driving the back street next to the hall at about 10 mph, a cop pulled me over. Dragged us out of the car, and searched us and the car - no law broken, no warrant. When the cops couldn't find anything he wrote me a ticket for speeding 25 mph in a 15 mph zone, despite me having crawled at 10 mph. Standard practice, stop you, search, and make a false accusation to justify the stop. Complaints to the police department went nowhere. Worst one was where the cop was swearing and yelling at me because he couldn't find any drugs, and throwing my possessions into someone's yard.
“Today’s dope is 25 - 35 times more potent than in the 70’s.”
Sure, and in the 70s people rolled big fat joints of that ditch weed to get high. Now they take one or two hits off a hitter or vape pen and get about the same effect.
If I went around saying “Whiskey has 12 times the alcohol content of the average domestic beer” it would sound pretty dangerous too if everyone didn’t already know that drinkers don’t consume the same amount of whiskey as they do beer.
When civility fades nothing good happens.
“Well, I’m doubting that all pot was that weak back in the day.”
It wasn’t. The cheap Mexican weed today is still just about as bad as the cheap Mexican weed people smoked back then. The high THC hybrid varieties of today are a bit stronger than the homegrown strains from the 70s, but not 25-35 times stronger. Perhaps 1.5-2 times stronger. He’s just comparing apples to oranges. Most of the high THC strains that hybrids today descend from were originally bred in the 60s and 70s.
Probably harvested from an outdoor grow so it showed up a month or two after harvest time every year. Not a Mexican grow, since they leave the males and females together so you get junk, but they would grow better stuff outdoors in the Kentucky backcountry and spots like that.
Didn’t know marijuana was part of Southern Cuisine!
But that is impossible! Cannabis, marijuana, pot, whatever you call it, is totally harmless!
“A 76-year-old woman is suing a catering company for $30,000 after she ate a lasagna spiked with cannabis at a wedding in February, leaving her with ‘severe, permanent injuries”
This makes no sense whatsoever.
I know what you mean and the question is a valid one.
I have someone close to me who has lost all hope and it’s terrible for her. I told her that she just MUST let go and let God, because otherwise she’s going to be miserable until the end. That’s not necessary, that kind of misery. It, the time til the end, shouldn’t be spent feeding energy into the evil but rather the good because that’s the light people need to be and to see as inspiration and comfort in these dark times. It reminds us, that there is glory ahead for eternity. We’re only here for such a short time. Our lives here are a mere vapor in the whole of our eternity where time doesn’t exist. Tough it out and our reward is immeasurable. I read a demon, who must speak the truth to an exorcist who is confronting it in the name of Christ, stated that if man could witness on single moment of beatific vision of God we would endure a lifetime of torture to have that moment.
That musta been some REALLY skunky weed. Or so I’ve been told.
Edibles are completely different than smoking it. I had someone bring laced cookies and I was passed out for a good 20 hours not being able to move. It could be very dangerous.
I’m curious what “severe, permanent” injuries might be caused by eating marijuana, and if the injuries are that bad, why the woman is only suing for $30,000. Something odd about this.
It’s not a question anymore, it’s a challenge.
