Hey there, radu!
It was nice and sunny, but quite chilly. I wouldn’t have wanted to spend much time outside, so I didn’t. LOL!
Glad you had no wind to mess up your day. It can make all the difference.
HEY, GIRL,
ANIMALS ARE MUCH MORE COMPLEX THAN WE KNOW AT FIRST. THIS ONE IS JUST BEAUTIFUL!
THANKS.
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours. Hope you are having fun working on your new car. Stay warm!!
It sounds like we had the same weather.
I hope there’s no wind tomorrow because I need to make a cat food run to build my stockpile back up and will go to several stores. Haven’t been able to get 20# bags for a little while and my stash is dwindling. I’ll grab a bunch of 15# bags and make do with them for now, IF I can find a bunch. No telling how long this dry spell is going to last.
I hope you have a good trip into town with no wind to blow you all over the parking lot! I hate the wind...have I ever said that before? LOL!
Hey there, TigerHawk.
Isn’t he a magnificent feller? He, his mate, and their calf have been hanging around at the seaplane base for a few days now. We didn’t see the calf today but the cow was out there. None of the small planes are flying right now so the wildlife folks haven’t run the moose off. Once they get the gravel runway cleared and the groomer on the lake to clear snow off the ice so the planes can fly again, the moose will be run off whenever they show up.
In the meantime, we get to enjoy watching them.
My front yard is filled clear out to the street, so I am going to have to call to get a truck load removed. My plow guys have no place to put any more snow, as they are not allowed to put it in the street. My neighbor, with a plow, adds to the pile in the middle, or things would be even worse. LOL!
When my Dad and I used snow blowers, we always blew the snow out in the middle to keep the street clear, as did/does everyone else on the cul-de-sac.
I hope there’s no wind too. I don’t mind it during summer when it cools us off a little but can’t stand it when it’s cold.
Anything I need to do outside needs to be finished by next Friday. That’s when we get slammed by the arctic blast, with rain, then snow, along with howling wind. Wind chills will be sub-zero by late in the day. I do NOT look forward to next weekend AT ALL!
Better call Monday about your yard. There's no telling how far behind those guys are at this point. I hope they don't have to stop removals any time soon due to having nowhere to put it.
Your neighbor rocks.
Get it done before the Arctic cold sets in for sure. It’s supposed to be a low of 11 here next Thursday. Makes me shiver just to think about it. Ugh. Poor kitties. They will really appreciate their warm beds during that. Fingers crossed for no snow OR ice!
Very cool...you to watch the wildlife and stay warm, too.
His legs are probably close to 4’, so you can get an idea how deep that snow is. They have huge bodies on spindly legs. The one that was here last week just stepped over the 4’ chain link fence into the neighbor’s yard.
YA GOTTA BE AN OPTIMIST, YA GOTTA KEEP LOOKING AT THE GOOD OLD BRIGHT SIDE, YA KNOW? BETWEEN NOW AND FRIDAY THE ASTEROID MIGHT HIT AND WE WON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING AT ALL... HUH?
Our lows will be low teens or single digits next weekend and we’ll have wind overnight I reckon. I hate that the precip will come in while it’s above freezing and give us rain to begin with. Snow is bad enough but it’s a lot worse with ice underneath it. I’d planned to go to a friend’s annual Christmas Day Night party Sunday night but that stuff isn’t going to thaw. No way I’m getting out on the roads with them slippery. Too many hills along the highway between here and the town she lives in.
I wish someone would say how long the arctic blast is supposed to last. I’ve heard no mention as of yet.
I’m worried about y’all in TX. You don’t need a repeat of the disaster a couple of years ago when the power grid went down.
It’s been pretty neat the past few days getting to see them. They usually get run off pretty quickly but since the small planes can’t fly right now, they’re being allowed to stick around.
Is the moose you’re referring to the one that was in your back yard or the one that was right outside the door when you were going to take the trash barrel to the street? EEK!
Or was it the same one both times? I’m glad we don’t have them here. They are HUGE!
No we don’t need another episode of THAT mess. I would hope that our power grid is stronger, but I don’t want to test it.
Nooooo way would I chance driving on an icy, windie road! Smart to stay home and cuddle with your kitties! I know your friend will understand. Hope it doesn’t get that bad, though.
I always try to find a bright side to look at but I’m not seeing one about next weekend.
Maybe that asteroid isn’t such a bad idea. LOL!!
You sure don’t!! I hoe and pray they’ve managed to strengthen the power grid by now. If not, some heads need to roll.
The highway has almost no curves so that’s no problem. The hills, yes. Heck, just getting from the driveway to the highway to go anywhere there are ups and downs that make it very difficult when ice is on the road. That’s why I just stay home in that kind of weather. If it was just snow, it would be as bad but we seem to always get rain first that adds a glaze of ice under the snow.
I used to not mind driving in snow...after all, we lived in Germany for 3 years, and our house was on top of a hill. But, not any more. I want to stay alive for a while longer. LOL!
I’m sure your friend will understand, and then if the weather guys are wrong, you might still get to make it.
IT’S THE IDIOT MEDIA MAROONS GOT ME ALL FOCUSED ON THAT DAMNED ASTEROID...
“ASTEROID X.5-2743ALPHA2, THE SIZE OF THE STATE OF GA, IS HURTLING THROUGH SPACE AND WILL COME WITHIN 12 MILLION MILES OF EARTH!!!”
BEEN A LONG DAY. I’VE GOTTA HIT THE SACK.
BE WELL.
G_D BLESS!
Dad taught me how to drive on snow when I learned how to drive but we seldom get just snow nowadays like we did back then. It’s rain first, then snow. Without chains, you just can’t drive on it very well. I just stay home. The Yankees who keep moving down here think our snow is drier like theirs and they’re the first to wipe out. Staying out of their way is the best plan of action. LOL
All the Nashville channels have the same forecast for next weekend so unless a miracle happens, I expect to stay home.
