It's one of the bad ones, yes - Victoria (where I live) is the most extreme on COVID related controls, but Queensland is probably second (it's a toss up between Queensland and Western Australia).

But I do think it's fair to emphasise that this statement happened in the context of the brutal ambush murder of two Queensland police officers by people who I do think it's fair to categorise as conspiracy nutcases - their nuttery went beyond COVID-19 stuff, though. Murders like that are very rare in Australia - we're talking less than one a decade - and they've rattled a lot of people.
