I think maybe I would have said, “These are only going to be the rules of THIS congress. Next Congress we will consider going back to the old rules which will allow each party to pick their committee members. This is only a temporary rule to get show the Democrats how unfair it is.”
If we suggest that these changes are permanent and we lose the House in the next election, you can be sure that Democrats will ONLY allow Globalist Neocon Bush-leaguers to be on any committees in the future.
Having this be the status quo going forward is a losing game for the Republicans. It is much easier for the Dems to find liberal progressive Republicans than it is for the Republicans to find conservative nationalist Democrats.
