only 13/15 correct. As an Original Trekkie, I am ashamed at my low score.
Dang, gal! That’s an excellent score! Hardly anyone pays attention to the actual actors. :)
LOL...two of the questions were ambiguous. Both Shatner and Nimoy recorded record albums. Shatner’s is particularly hilarious, as he does “MacArthur Park”, which is a ridiculous song to begin with.
Bible in a Year:
The Sovereign Lord says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!
“Do you see it, brother Tim?” My friend, a Ghanaian pastor, flashed his torchlight on a carved object leaning against a mud hut. Quietly he said, “That is the village idol.” Each Tuesday evening, Pastor Sam traveled into the bush to share the Bible in this remote village.
In the book of Ezekiel, we see how idolatry plagued the people of Judah. When Jerusalem’s leaders came to see the prophet Ezekiel, God told him, “These men have set up idols in their hearts” (14:3). God wasn’t merely warning them against idols carved of wood and stone. He was showing them that idolatry is a problem of the heart. We all struggle with it.
Bible teacher Alistair Begg describes an idol as “anything other than God that we regard as essential to our peace, our self-image, our contentment, or our acceptability.” Even things that have the appearance of being noble can become idols to us. When we seek comfort or self-worth from anything other than the living God, we commit idolatry.
“Repent!” God said. “Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!” (v. 6). Israel proved incapable of doing this. Thankfully, God had the solution. Looking forward to the coming of Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit, He promised, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you” (36:26). We can’t do this alone.
Reflect & Pray
When stress hits you, where do you turn for comfort? What might you need to turn away from today?
Father, show me the idols in my heart. Then help me destroy them and live in Your love.
Since you watch tv shows online, I don’t know where you’d find it. I watch it every now and then on COMET. Sometimes I just have to have a dose of Dean Stockwell. LOL It IS a good show and is sometimes absolutely hilarious.
Maybe I missed that one. I didn’t know either of them had recorded albums. I do remember hearing Shatner singing MacArthur Park....which I agree is dumb. LOL!
Good evening, Rus! Good to see you, as always. Thanks for our beautiful lesson from God’s Word! (((hugs)))
I’d have to search some of the TV show websites. Might be on Pluto.
Check COMET’s web site since they show it. Or I guess they still do. I haven’t watched it in a while.
Hi Luv.
Sez here this week that I started out with global warming but climate change cooled me down to ...
YOU GOT 8 OUT OF 15
Did you slash right through that like an expert — or did you come out a little injured?
Hey luvie.
Either the radar is lyin’ or you’re getting a little rain right now.
It’s not wrong! I was just about to write you to say...IT’S RAINING! Not a lot and not heavy, but the sidewalks are wet. LOL! And it smells good out there.....and it feels damp for a change. Yay!
First off on the pickup, I did talk to Cannon at Billingsley Ford, one of his colleagues ahs a brother who works for O'Reilly's. They couldn't find the right battery connector for the pickup and the option left for them was to build a new one.
After he told us how much it would cost in parts and labor, we decided to just forgo that for now. The pickup seems to be starting well since the fix last week. We will see what happens in the coming days and revisit it if and when we need to.
So, with that we went to Chisolm Trail Park for our daily exercize yesterday and here are the pics.
As to the quiz well, I did OK. I got 8 out of 15. Some of the questions were guesses.
How's everyone doing this morning?
YAY!!!!!!
It didn’t look like it was raining heavily there but the whole town has “green” over it on the radar. ‘Bout time y’all got some rain, even if it’s just a little.
I know how you feel, feeling the “damp” when you step outside. Our dew points have been in the 20s, which is very dry for us, and it felt good today while I was out.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Bummer about the battery connector. I hope the one on your truck holds up a while. It’s not fun getting stranded like you did the other day.
It looks like Gizmo had a great time dragging you all around again. :-)
Well, rats! To bad they didn’t have that connector for the pickup. Have you thought of going to a wrecking yard to see if they have one there that will fit?
Anyhow...great result on the quiz! I think nearly all of us guessed a lot. :)
I’m pretty sure our humidity has been in the single digits lately. It feels like it anyway. I’ll take whatever God gives us. Something is better than nothing and the air feels way better now.
As long as it’s been since it rained there, it wouldn’t be a surprise if your humidity has been in the single digits. And you ARE in the desert. LOL
We got some decent rain last night but it hasn’t rained since I woke up this morning. The sky’s clear now but we have fog. Rain and storms here tomorrow night around midnight the weatherguy said we might have a wind advisory at some point. Even without it, we’ll be windy tomorrow ahead of a cold front that’s going to come through.
In fact, we have some things going on. My iPhone is saying lightning is being detected near our location. It seems we have rain and thunder in our area.
