Colorado’s rural hospitals could get $3 million a year to end inpatient care. So far, they don’t seem interested.

“Well not many native English speakers going into ER for a common cold. That is primarily the style of the fruit of Mexico.”

LOL! I was in an ER around midnight and the room was fillied with native English speaking families bring in their kids with runny noses.

It was a social event. Mom, pop and all the kids. Parents discussing all the usual things and kids running around playing together.

My lady friend has been an ER for several years and is frustrated by all the mexicO’s people swarming in for simple PC, and how it slows down care for others. So I’m not fazed by your claims in the least.

“Predominantly genuine emergencies.”

African-American patients were significantly more likely to visit the emergency department than other racial groups.

In 2010, African-American patients used the emergency department 54 percent of the time. In urban areas, the rate was higher, at 59 percent.

I know a family whose loved one was in a hospital about 40 or 50 minutes away from them. It was not terribly difficult for them to go and visit... because they had the resources to pay for the frequent trips and eating out, take time off work, etc.

For people who do not have those resources, small local hospitals allow them to visit their friends and loved ones, which is good for everyone.

Since medical facilities have bene permitted to go for-profit, everything comes down to the bottom line.
