Howdy, luvie.
It’s a bit nippy here today. Tomorrow will start out ok but it’ll get windy late in the day as the cold front closes in on us. Rain overnight into Wednesday, then a chance for snow showers Thursday. We won’t get out of the 30s that day and it’ll still be windy. BRRRRRRRRRRR The Republican women’s meeting is Thursday morning but with the roads wet and the temps dropping so low, I probably won’t go. Heck, it might get called off since our president lives on the mountain - right behind the museum. I don’t know that she’ll want to come down that snakey highway with it icy.
Looking at the radar, it looks like you might start getting a little rain tonight. Then more of it tomorrow. Every drop counts!
Howdy, Kathy.
A bit snowy up there earlier today. I hope your ‘puter’s behaving so you’re able to work from home.
I’m having problems with mine tonight and rebooted the modem in hopes that would straighten things out. Nope. Still squirrelly so the problem is Comcast.
We already have a Cavazos Elementary School, but now we’re going to be Fort Cavazos, as well.
SMH…
I spent much time there
Every drop counts for darn sure. I hope it doesn’t fizzle out like it has so many times this last 12 months.
I sure wouldn’t want to get out in your oncoming weather on flat land much less trying to drive down a mountain. Yikes! I hope it’s called off. Plenty of time when it’s not treacherous!
Ft. Hood used to be my home.
Bible in a Year:
The kingdom of heaven is like treasure.
My friend Ruel attended a high school reunion held in a former classmate’s home. The waterfront mansion near Manila Bay could accommodate two hundred attendees, and it made Ruel feel small.
“I’ve had many happy years of pastoring remote rural churches,” Ruel told me, “and even though I know I shouldn’t, I couldn’t help but feel envious of my classmate’s material wealth. My thoughts strayed to how different life might be if I’d used my degree to become a businessman instead.”
“But I later reminded myself there’s nothing to feel envious about,” Ruel continued with a smile. “I invested my life in serving God, and the results will last for eternity.” I’ll always remember the peaceful look on his face as he said those words.
Ruel drew peace from Jesus’ parables in Matthew 13:44−46. He knew that God’s kingdom is the ultimate treasure. Seeking and living for His kingdom might take various forms. For some, it might mean full-time ministry, while for others, it may be living out the gospel in a secular workplace. Regardless of how God chooses to use us, we can continue to trust and obey His leading, knowing, like the men in Jesus’ parables, the value of the imperishable treasure we’ve been given. Everything in this world has infinitely less worth than all we gain by following God (1 Peter 1:4−5).
Our life, when placed in His hands, can bear eternal fruit.
That’s the problem with living in the desert - - the air’s so dry the rain evaporates before it hits the ground. It’s a problem here, too, when our air gets really dry like it has the past several months. It has to rain a little while to moisten the air, then rain makes it to the ground.
I hit the store this afternoon but now I’m trying to think of anything I might have forgotten so I can grab it tomorrow. From what the weathergal was saying a minute ago, I’m not going to be too hot on going anywhere until, Friday.
And I’m going to be fretting about tree limbs coming down. She said the wind will be howling starting tomorrow night. Wunnerful.
I was getting nervous about whole trees coming down around here. It was really nasty. It’s still blowing, but not as bad. Also says we’re getting “light rain”, but it’s dry as a bone at our house. It does feel a bit more humid, though, so maybe there’s hope. Gosh, it’s also saying WE could have snow showers. Wow.
I don’t blame you for wanting to get whatever you might need before this cold front hits you. Get ‘er done and hunker down. And hope you don’t get tree limbs down. That’ll be a mess to have to deal with. Especially alone. :(
My other 8 years of active duty were as a Midshipman at the US Naval Academy (2 years), three one-year tours with the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea as a court reporter, and one three-year tour to Mannheim, Germany, as a court reporter.
Yes, this front seems to be taking a deep dive since the radar shows snow down into Mexico. IF you can get some wet stuff, some of it just might be snow. Right now, it’s showing rain all around Odessa - - you’re in a hole. I’ve seen that here more times than I can remember. LOL It’s frustrating.
From what was said during the weather report tonight, the winds will be about the same as they were last Thursday when it got so wild. No big limbs came down then so maybe I’ll have the same luck this time. I don’t need any more expenses.
It is now lightly drizzling...or something to make the sidewalk slightly wet. With the dampness and the wind, it feels colder than the 43 degrees that it says we have. I’m curious to see what tomorrow brings.
Yes, there is a deep dive, and Reed says that Houston to New Orleans will have tornadoes. I’m glad we just have wind. LOL! Stay warm! You do have a window of opportunity if you’ve thought of what you might need to get tomorrow.
How's everyone doing this morning?
Wind chill sux, doesn’t it? LOL Think about being outside with temps in the single digits and the wind roaring. That’s what I dealt with over Christmas weekend and having to go out to check on those darn heaters. That was brutal.
I just checked them a couple of minutes ago since I haven’t checked them for a little while. Still doing their job. Thank goodness it isn’t windy tonight because it’s cold.
I hadn’t looked into it but figured there’s be more nasty weather south of us tomorrow night. It’s a strong front. At this point, they say we won’t have storms here but we’ll still have that dratted wind all night. That’s more than enough.
The only thing I’ve thought of that I forgot today is Milano cookies. I can live a few days without them so if I don’t think of anything important, I’ll pass on a store run tomorrow. LOL
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
You’re up early again. Was yesterday another gorgeous day for your outing? Not looking very pretty for your area later today, is it? :-(
Wind chill certainly does suck sewer water. I remember those bitter temps over the Christmas holiday. We didn’t have single digits, but they were darn close.
Good grief. You’re sitting at 28 and it’s 27 in Anchorage! That sure doesn’t happen very often in the winter! Kathy’s probably wondering why it’s so warm. LOL!
