The most accurate number I have seen is for KIAs and MIAs is
Russia - About 10,000. I wouldn’t be surprised if that number was near 16,000 like you mention.
Ukraine - About 157,000 with about 30,000 of those MIA.

Casualties includes both KIA and WIA. So 4,000 casualties is a mix of both. Probably 1/4 dead, 1/4 too badly wounded to return to service quickly if ever, 1/2 returnable after some time, anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

Oh really? Why? They have a shrinking population. they aren’t like 1938 Germany that had families of 10 living in used rail cars. Why do they need the world? They already have fuel pouring out of their EARS, food surplus in their stores etc. Putin maybe just wants a better defensive position ,more power and prestige. He IS a bad guy I agree.
