A judge in a lawsuit many, many years ago in a civil trial we initiated had to recluse himself because his wife and my mom were on the PTA together.

A judge that was appointed by the husband of the plaintiff should never be allowed to preside over any case that involves the person who appointed them, period, including up to the supreme court.
