You guys are operating from a very misconstrued belief system.
I don’t hate the Russians. I am terribly sorry that
Russia has lost a lot of it’s young men. If we look
at the children these men likely would have sired,
we could be talking about deficit of 100, 200, 400,000
Russians that would have been living in ten years
time.

I’ve heard the Ukrainian claims to that effect, just haven’t heard anything from unbiased sources. Closer number that seems supportable is 20-25k on the Russian side*, and 8 to 10 times that on the Ukrainian side.
*and there are plenty of people and organizations trying to prove the Ukrainian number, combing through Russian social media and death/missing persons notices and whatever else is available - just no luck in doing so.
BobL, Russia had to mobilize twice to ship new troops to
the front lines. We’re talking about big numbers, and
those numbers came from the Russian leadership.
While I don’t honestly think all the talked about numbers
made their way to the front lines, I do think it’s
reasoned to believe 100,000 or so did. Why that, if only
20,000 Russian troops had been taken out?
I do believe the Ukraine has suffered a like amount of
fatalities. This hasn’t been good for either side.

Mission creep, need more people. The original force was to ‘send a message’, the force being built now is for occupation if hostile territory and likely direct combat against NATO - far more troops needed.
i suspect for some of them it is a job, for others a non-compensated obsession. they won’t be going anywhere, and they will successfully derail any thread discussing this mess we are in.
