My dear FRiend, nobody, and no politician is perfect.

We have many fine GOP Conservative Govs. None is without well-deserved criticism.

For your re-consideration, please look at...

Abbott

Noem

Sununu

Little

and

Youngkin.

I believe these Govs to not without errors in judgment, however to be allies (mostly). That said, I'm always willing to learn, so feel free to add info.

Other Govs should be included in my mostly Conservative list, I am certain, however I lack familiarity with them.

Perfection should not be the enemy of good and to be exclusive as to be mostly on our side.

Check out the proposed legislation and you will find the gas stove tax break is just part of a bigger package that Floridians are going to love. Even some toll relief as I recall.

Sununu, Noem, Abbott……ha ha ha ha ha ha

Sununu is as big a RINO as they come.

Noem…..she sun the same mold as Thune and Rounds, if not worse. If she did t have her looks, no one would pay attention to her.

Abbott….nah. I’m no fan of anyone who’s overseeing the largest expansion of windmills and solar panels around. I’m not sold on any of that green energy nonsense.

Little…..the country has seen 5,000,000 illegal aliens, that they know about, 400,000 anchor babies born last year and he’s suing Biden over grizzly bears.

Youngkin…..nope. In this day and age it doesn’t take much to be considered a conservative in a state like Virginia, given who he replaced. He’s a moderate country club Republican

You want someone more “moderate and likable”, that’s fine.

I want someone who’s going to say the ugly baby is ugly.

Wow, would you have labeled Ronald Reagan as a RINO?

He did, IIRC, support an amnesty for illegal aliens bill.

He was okey doked by the ‘lion of the Senate’ Kennedy, actually a murderer. And at the time I think the number was a few million, far less than what has come over the border in the last two years.

And it was supposed to be a one time thing and he traded the amnesty for border security which never happened.

In an email exchange with The Arizona Republic, Michael Reagan, the former president’s son, said that his father never regretted the amnesty part of the 1986 compromise, but did regret that there was no follow-through on the enforcement measures or border security.

Well, I easily knew it was wrong from the get go. I would put this as one of RR's few failures.

And, that said, he was NOT a RINO (not a term then used.)

My point?

Nobody's perfect.

In fact, there are few here on FR who agree 100%.

If we can't overlook some mistakes, a few, then we have nobody.

Just my opinion….we have only one. The same one they ran out of town in 2020.

Again….just my opinion.

Puts on quite the show. That he's being allowed to put on a show has me worried. Lots of money been thrown around.

You give me $13 million and then I'll give you $77 million.(repub party of FL) Such a deal. $6 mil to house, $2.5 to senate. Might be why the FL legislature is so agreeable. I hate politics.

Not sure who I'll pick in the primary but I'd vote for either Trump or DeSantis in the general and hope for the best. Of course I'd vote for most any repub in the general aside from the major RINOs. ie I'm a NeverNikki guy.

Blitz Canvassing works in the Midwest which tells me he's at least thought about running for president. I think he's running.

They're 2022 election year campaign finance numbers. https://www.transparencyusa.org/fl/candidate/ron-desantis-can/contributors

I'm not going to pretend I know all about campaign finance.

As far as all that money bouncing around between various repub orgs, that's part of our broken political system imho. I'm sure it's standard practice that they all do. There's so much political money flying around it makes one's head spin.

It’s not just gas stoves, all gas appliances, furnaces, and hot water tanks, public and private.

WHEN DID WE HIRE A KING NANNY? Telling us what Stove we can have. I thought this was a Free Republic, not a Dictatorship.
I think I’m smart enough to pick the APPLIANCES I want. After all, they are in many of our Public institutes, businesses, and the homes of the rich Parascitic Elite$.

It’s not really related.. If the Feds ban most gas stoves, then tax-free status really doesn’t matter.

But why should gas stoves be tax-free? What’s so special about them that they should get that status? I can see essentials like basic food or hygiene having tax exemptions, but anything more than that is the State meddling in the market more than it needs to.

I can understand the sentiment but not everyone has access to a natural gas line.

I guess it’s up to the utility company and the property developer to put one in.

Now yes anyone can buy propane.

I don’t think $840 will cover installing a 40+ amp line unless you can do a lot of the work yourself.

If your local utility has a gas line at the street you’d still have to dig a trench to get from the line to your house then get it inspected - waiving sales tax wouldn’t cover that either.

We have gas, for the hot water tank, fireplace, and furnace. An electric stove came with the house. Our hot water heater is a big Tankless with a freaking electric starter, and so are the rest of the gas appliances.

Even switching from an 80% efficient gas furnace to a 90+% efficient gas furnace can be expensive. I had to replace the furnace some years ago on a house I used to own. The furnace was about 35 years old.

I had asked about a 90+% efficient furnace but at least two HVAC guys told me that type of furnace burns too hot. With a metal flue and a wood frame, I’d have to replace the flue too.
So I stuck with the 80% efficient gas furnace.
