Stop funding these Aholes!“

They had their chance but NPR promised Newt and the boys they would be more even handed and neutral so the GOP House backed down and got suckered..again.

I read years ago that NPR costs 7 times as much to run as ABC News. Lots and lots of do-nothings at NPR. A real buddy system of tax payer funded no-show jobs.

"When we say we are eliminating filled positions, we are talking about our colleagues - people whose skills, spirit and talents help make NPR what it is today," Lansing wrote in a memo to staff today."

*************

...skills, spirit, talents and highly valued extreme leftwing bias help make NPR what it is today

There, fixed it.

NPR doing exactly the opposite of what they should be doing.

Truthful reporting would be a lot easier to do, which would likely get them more viewers and more advertising. But, being committed to their liberal ideology and agenda is mire important than being successful and keeping their staff employed.

They’re doing exactly what the Biden administration does, which is to do exactly the opposite of what Trump was doing. NPR is doing exactly the opposite of what FOX news does.

CEO John Lansing cited the erosion of advertising dollars, particularly for NPR podcasts, and the tough financial outlook for the media industry more generally.

It's NPR: why does it need advertising dollars?

OTOH, if no one wants to subscribe to their podcasts, that's a good thing.

If they’d monitized Barney 30 years ago they wouldn’t need taxpayer funding.

Still waiting for the GOP to defund this anti-conservative outlet. Its nothing more than a megaphone for the Leftist agenda.

And that’s what needs to happen with the total US government. Maybe start with 5% personnel costs along with 5% cut in operations costs for each of the next five years.

And that’s the only real question.

How many “Republican” administrations have simply done nothing about this obvious propaganda outlet?

NPR is maddeningly painful to listen to.

Their presenters are all “i am better than you, I will tell you what to think”

All have the Uber condesending speech/ inflection.

And it is really a shame. Their programs (by and large) are extremely well produced (hosts and bias aside).

Some of their local entrepeneurs/ artists/ guy that makes birdhouses type interviews are really compelling and stuff you would not get anywhere else, or near as well done.

But then they always end with. “You have told us about the woods. the plans, the construction, what kind of bird will live here, the finishing process.. Now, tell us how Trump has hurt you personally...”

How come Trump couldn’t seem to even make this happen? Hope he’s taking notes now and finishes the job once and for all.

Ad revenue?

I thought they got to eat our taxpayers dollars so they didn’t have to run ads?

Certainly that has been their salient point to pitch to viewers over some 50 years of their annoying telethons!

I wouldn’t piss on the employees of NPR if they were to be on fire. I resent my tax money going to a mouthpiece of the DNC and liberalism.

“Ad Revenue”?

Wasn’t NPR (and her wicked stepsister PBS) supposed to be “Commercial Free”?
